I submitted all my applications back in October, (9 schools) shortly after I finished my SCEA for Yale. So I’ve just been waiting and panicking…
How important is it to write the supplement essay? Not sure if I’m going to apply but the importance of the extra essay is definitely a big factor in whether or not i do.
Any RD students get a response for an interview yet? Not entirely sure as to how the interviewing timeline relates to SCEA or RD
@Mauriciog I’m no expert but I think everyone is too busy with SCEA to start on RD.
@ffina23 I feel like not doing it might show you don’t care too much. Not really sure if people get in without one. I’d do one anyway to be sure. There must be something you’ve experienced in your 18 years that you’d like to let admissions know!
Is it bad I’m not done with my common app essay?
Also, how do we request interviews?
I’m in too lol! I’m still iffy about the optional essay, though.
Hey have other people not started their applications yet?? Ive finished the common app already. Does that count hahaha. But srs question, for those taking sat dec 5 can you recieve, view, and then send your scores without rushing them???
@kentonpalmer They accept January scores, so I suppose you have the leisure of looking at your scores without rushing them. I would send them promptly nonetheless, as you don’t want to have to worry about scores and the such after you submitted the application.
I’m applying! Has anybody had their interview for RD yet?
I can’t imagine RD interviews will happen until after the New Year. I just had my SCEA interview for another school a week ago, and I know people who had their EA/ED interviews as late as today. Most schools require interview reports to be submitted by tomorrow.
@Rosabella98 From what I understand, the admissions office won’t even assign you an interview until you’ve submitted your app, and even then, SCEA applicants get priority, so we’ll just have to keep waiting!
Both of my sons applied RD, but had their apps in by Nov. 1. They both had their interviews in November.
Harvard tries to schedule interviews as soon as possible after receiving the application.
My app was submitted in October, (RD) and I haven’t been contacted for an interview yet. I’m sure a lot of it depends on where you live, and how many people in your area applied.
@Spicykins and @mjstewart1224 that makes sense I guess and gives me more time to prepare!
That’s correct. We live in a major metropolitan area with many Harvard graduates.
@mjstewart1224 I highly doubt any RD applicants have been offered interviews. The EA round with its intense deadlines just passed. For you, they have until the end of Feb. RD applicants aren’t a priority whatsoever until mid December
@T26E4 …that’s what I said…(you didn’t read that thread very thoroughly)
srry you were right. reading too fast
I’m applying RD and I got an email maybe a week ago about an interview that l have on December 12th. It’s at a local HS, so maybe that’s why is was so early.
Interview next Wednesday!
