@schroscat Or you do. Really, That is the best possible name for a cat.
Nope. Yale
@T26E4 : Thanks a lot! Apologize if that my earlier presumption was offensive
hahah! Certainly not! I’m a proud Yalie but wouldn’t bash another school – except for Harvard, that is! Gotta poke at them when I get the chance!
But joking aside, the Harvard likely letter holder was one of the most obnoxious students I’ve ever interviewed in 25 years. No kidding.
I can imagine someone who would be so overfilled with joy that he/she would become extremely cocky. I suppose that’s where the stereotype that Harvard kids are extremely obnoxious and full of themselves come from.
Hi guys,
Just a quick question to anyone who wrote the January SATs and designated Harvard as a recipient:
Has your applicant status portal been updated with the January score date? Mine has a tick next to the official scores checklist but the date received is from 2015.
@ambitious96 : You can call them directly and ask or check your sent SAT score to them to see if you sent them the correct one. If you did, then that’s probably the correct SAT that they received
Ok thank you…I was just curious as to whether the date on the checklist is updated with regards to SAT scores or the date remains the same (it doesn’t update the date the first scores were received). I did send the correct ones though
Hi guys, yesterday I was contacted by harvard to set up a second interview does anyone know what this means exactly??
@logan1997 : Have you tried looking through the threads that already have the answer to similar questions to yours? As for your question, it means that the first interview was not enough to assess you as a whole. They could also be considering your application to review again instead of tossing you into the reject pile. Thus, a second interview is chance to strengthen and fortify their assessment on you
Yes, I did read those threads, however, there was no clear answer. In your opinion do you feel this means I have a good chance of admission?
@logan1997 : It is impossible to indicate whether you have a good chance of admission or not because the decision iss made in a Committee. Thus you need at least 51% of the vote to get accepted. A second interview means that they are willing to reconsider your application, it only means that for now, you are not yet in the reject pile. Whereas you will be accepted or denied in the future or not, only Admission Officers know
P.S: I tend towards making rational speculations, even in my own opinions as subjective thinking doesn’t mean much because I am not part of that committee
I have never heard of second interview. Is it common?
It is not really that common but not that rare either. Generally, either that the first interviewer’s report wasn’t that satisfying and contrasts with your profile that they need a second interview to verify or they give a second interview to make a more accurate assessment of the profile
Is the second interview with an admissions officer over Skype?
@Falcon1 no it is with an alum for 30 minutes and then 10 minutes with admissions officer (at least mine is)
It means you’re under serious consideration. Just be yourself and I’m sure you’ll do fine!
@Falcon1 really!!! Omg how do you know??
I’m afraid I don’t know for certain. I am just speculating based upon past experiences of kids I know who were called for second interviews where an AO was involved. I didn’t realize you’re an international. I’m not sure how that changes things if at all. In any event, having a second interview doesn’t mean you are guaranteed to get in? It means that you’re interesting to them but they need more information. You can PM me if you want to further discuss this.
@Falcon1 I’m not an international I’m from Long Island NY
