Does anyone know until when the admission committee has meetings to make decisions? I thought I heard/read somewhere it’s usually until around St. Patrick’s Day (tomorrow lol).
Does anyone else’s status portal still say that certain components of their applications are missing? I used the contact method on the site twice in the last two months to check on this and received emails saying that they were being slow to update all of the portals due to the high number of applications and that they would contact people who needed to resubmit materials. However, the portal still says that my secondary school report and mid-year reports are missing. I know that all of my materials made it to other schools, but am still a bit worried because my school sends its reports by mail.
Good thing I’ll be at practice at 5…
How much do you all want to bet that I will receive a thin crimson envelope?
@aBitOfLuck - I’d say the odds are about 94.1 to 5.9
Just kidding - it’s a crapshoot for everyone, but I wish you luck! I’m sure many of us are feeling much the same self-doubt. Hang in there - 15 more days.
How did y’all do on midyear report for senior year?
@beaglee105 If you mean did it get sent and show up - yes, mid-Feb. If you mean grade-wise, I got a 4.0 - which was pretty necessary considering my grades bombed second semester junior year, so I needed to show they went back up.
@whitespace oops I forgot to add “well” on my comment. How exactly important our midyear reports are? I did well my junior year… But I did not quite do well during senior year. Not a significant change in grades, but my Gpa is not so good:/ can colleges reject students based on just looking at senior year grade?
@harvard2020babe Yes, getting a early notification was really amazing! Definitely let me know how it goes on the D-day!
@azwu331 Thank you so much! And let me know how it goes on the 31st!
@Wendelstein Thank you! I am from Italy, you?
@kuriosmind Thanks!
Hey guys!
I recently did my black belt in Taekwondo. Do you think it’s worth sending an update? (And if yes, how do I do that? Upload a word document?)
Thx
@goldenmaster - I’ll be honest, at this point I think it is not worth sending an update. I’m not familiar with how prestigious a black belt is, however. If you decide to update, the instructions are on the portal.
I am quite convinced that they have already finished making like 95% of decisions. Honestly, at this time, I don’t think it will make a difference to send an update.
I mean, it won’t hurt to update. But yeah it’s not likely to make a different at this point either.
@mitzilulu I sent mine February 3. It shows on Parchment that it was received / downloaded - I think on Feb 6, for some reason the mid-year report field showed “Optional.” The next day it went back to “Awaiting.” Not sure what to think.
I did upload an update with awards I’ve received since Jan1 recently. Who knows if that does anything. Can’t hurt?
@goldenmaster I say go ahead. It won’t hurt you, so… Plus, who knows, it may make a difference.
Do they mail decisions or release online?
They will post your decision on your portal.
I am so nervous for decision! But even though I know there is nothing I can do at this point I have a question about my interview.
So apparently during my interview my interviewer told me that Harvard had “flagged” me and that they were interested and that he made it a point to share that info with his interviewers because he believed in being honest with all the people he interviews. What does that mean? Has anyone heard about Harvard “flagging”?
@CharliGibbons No I’ve never heard of that before, nor do I think most interviewers have access to someone’s admission progress. However, I will say, it does look suspicious that you only have one post and you created an account today. I’ve seen a lot of people trying to fool others on these CC threads so I’m taking things with a grain a salt unless other people can corroborate what you’ve said.
