Even though I only applied to Harvard, I am so nervous for Ivy Day. And what’s more, I;m waiting for UVa and Emory as to release their Regular Decision results as well. The good news is I have already been accepted to two top Florida schools, So the next two weeks will be interesting, to say the leasat.
@columbhiroller: I myself did get an interview from Harvard. They try to interview all the applicants they can based on their alumni locations. So if there is not a Harvard alum near your area, that might explain why you didn’t have an interview. Even if you didn’t have an interview, it doesn’t mean that your chances of admission are neccessarily lower than any other apllicant only because you didn’t get an interview. It is just based on how close in location a Harvard alum is to you.
Anybody had a followup after the interview or comment by the interviewer?
After my interview, my interviewer just told me that he will get back to me in late March-April. Then again, I was his first interview ever, because he had just been asked this year to do applicant interviews.
I read on one thread on CC a while ago in a comment a mother of a Harvard applicant wrote. She wrote that her daughter had gotten into Harvard, but that she had been interviewed for a total of three times. Now since I don’t want to look at the situation in an objective way and generalize it, I don’t know why they interviewd that particular applicant three times. There could have been a number of reasons why. I just think thewhole circumstance of what the mother said was interesting.
Did anyone have their Harvard interview in the Harvard club of NYC on January 30th??
@ammoopi; did you have a followup or a comment by the interviewer?
Harvard, Yale and Columbia applicant here. Some of my other RD schools are set to come out this week so yeah… these next 2 weeks are going to have a lot of crying regardless of the outcomes lol
Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Penn
I applied to Harvard early action and was deferred. I’m just happy I wasn’t outright rejected. My interviewer was really nice but he told me that if he were applying to Harvard now he probably wouldn’t get in I also applied to Princeton, Yale, Columbia and Brown. Looking forward to getting the rejections over with haha
@AlosterSinclair LOL—I have nothing else to say.
@AlosterSinclair God I love u :)) u had me going until the white rhino bit
Your stats are very borderline. you probably won’t get into Harvard with those, I would shoot for a community college if I were you.
Hm. So I logged onto my portal just now, and under the section where it says, ‘upload materials’ there was something uploaded today, just a few hours ago, that says, “miscellaneous.” I didn’t upload anything. Does anyone else have this showing? There is no way to view the uploaded file.
@Lovelearning7 Nope dont have that
That is really weird, is it possible that you accidentally uploaded something or someone else had access to your account?
Maybe you should email them about it
@VaishS No one else with access, and I haven’t even checked the portal, let alone uploaded anything to it, in a long time. Says it was uploaded at 10:53pm EST. Not sure I want to bug admissions with a query about it during their busy time right now. Anyone else have anything unusual under uploads on portal?
@Lovelearning7 nope I don’t have anything either
@Lovelearning7 are you sure you maybe didn’t just upload something now? It would seem an odd time for admissions to do anything if it was uploaded at 10:53 pm
I’m sure. Just logged on because I hadn’t in awhile and happened to scroll down to the uploaded materials section and see today’s date. Trying to think of what it could be. Haven’t sent anything since application was turned in, either.
Trying to decide if this is the kind of thing that would be ok to email admissions about, or if it would it be considered annoying/harassing.
I definitely would email them and let them know that you didn’t upload anything and that if something was somehow uploaded to disregard it
