@hola1997 there are 83 pages of comments on this post. I’m not going through every one of them lol
You can certainly search for the key term by using the search function. Anyhow, all Ivies release their decision on March 31st this year.
Ive had the craziest admissions decisions yet.
International here.
Ive been rejected to williams, pomona, northwestern and skidmore
waitlisted at uchicago, Duke and trinity college
I didn’t apply for Financial aid at Northwestern and uChicago.
And I applied for FA at Duke and the rest.
I have no idea if i’ll be admitted to any college now!
@Chanceno are you international?
@chanceno kind of like me right now lol. I only have ucla, and the rest are rejections or waitlists. wish luck
@Nebclarke yep international.
FA is need aware for all. But I didn’t apply for FA at Chicago (was expecting a straight rejection) and Northwestern u.
International face immense competition especially if you are applying for FA. Chances are very slim at high-end colleges or places that offer little FA to international students.
i just don’t get it. why would I get waitlisted at uchicago/ duke and rejected at skidmore.
Admission decisions are CRAZY.
@Chanceno same here, international applying for aid from the UK, four waitlists so far most likely due to the fact that I’m asking for so much aid. It’s painful, but understandable
@Chanceno : Because it is based on a committee. I was accepted by Grinnell yet rejected by URichmond. Sometimes, it even comes down to whether the ad committee thinks that you would FIT the school or class they are trying to build or not.
@Ayieee Well on IDOC, it says that my docs have been submitted and so I’m going with that.
Does your portal show your aid documents?
The Portal only shows REQUIRED documents (SAT, transcripts, etc.). For the financial documents, you just have to trust that College Board reports the important docs on IDOC. You won’t be penalized if you are missing any financial documents as Harvard will notify you if they are missing anything.
So agree. Also, one thing Ive realized, its TRULY not about the SATs.
i have a low 2130 for Duke and Chicago.
SAT only plays a small part in the process. Hence, “holistic”! Many applicants thought that you would have to get the perfect SAT score. However, the reality is that once you passed a certain threshold for GPA and SAT, the differences in your SAT score will NOT be counted by adcoms anymore. They would move on to compare you by essays, LORs, etc. Source comes from official Duke admission officer who came to my school and a former Harvard admission officer I knew.
@reach2020 Yeah my portal doesn’t show FA stuff because it’s not a required document for admission at this point. But as long as IDOC says that “All required documents have been submitted and are processed” in green, then I’m taking that as confirmation that Harvard has received them.
Just wondering, who are the ones that get in with SAT below 1800? The stats on Harvard gives this result.
I think 1800 is way too low. Special for internationals like me. Domestic students MIGHT have a chance, but internationals are screwed even with 2100s.
Were their LORs, essays, Grades, ECs and achievements exceptional or something more?
