@snackpack idk! I guess I meant in general. I feel like I only ever see people talking about wanting to major in bio but maybe it’s just in my experience!
@tuty143 bio is cool, so I can see why many would want to. Have you bought harvard Merch already?? Cause the minute I get accepted I’m ordering all their Merch at once haha
Also anybody got any superstitions to uphold during this wait?
Ahh I hate thinking about this beyond just saying “well the SCEA acceptance rate is a little over 15% so I think I have a little over 15% chance of acceptance.” Personally, I’m optimistic that I have a decent shot because my scores are in range and I have some things in my application that’ll hopefully make me stand out (will only share after I’m either accepted or rejected via the decisions thread). However, if I had to be completely honest, deferral wouldn’t exactly surprise me and if that occurs I’d expect rejection in April. But like I said, I’m trying to be optimistic that admissions officers will value what I’ve done outside of school!
I’m planning on concentrating in sociology w/ a pre-med track. I’m super interested in some sort of social medicine or medical anthropology future, so I think that’s the probably the best way to achieve that. (Although I’d probably want to see if I could do a secondary in global health and health policy, depending on how much time I have left in my schedule if I get admitted.)
My superstition so far is that I have the admissions brochure on my desk with a good luck charm on it! Is that crazy or what? I mean I also have a countdown above my wall (I’ve chosen December 10 as the arbitrary date for now, may need to revise that later) but idk if that’s really a superstition as it is an unhealthy, stress-inducing “coping” mechanism. @snackpack02, what superstitions are you upholding to?
Agh I’m just so hopeful we make it, y’all. My friend is a freshman at Harvard right now and I’ve been vicariously living through her Facebook photos, which is great for when I want to learn more about the school but awful for quelling the anxiety of this admissions process.
@RandomRhino my superstition is: I have been wearing my goodluck t-shirt every Thursday. So hopefully decisions come out the 10th hahaha also I’m going to have my mom open the portal or email, she always brings me good news lol
Also of course, having a countdown is a must. Makes it official
@RandomRhino what shows are you currently watching? I’m looking to pick up a good one
My superstition is my mom. Before big events (the last one being my state championship match) if she has a bad, fuzzy feeling in her stomach something bad will happen. But if she doesn’t, it won’t. She felt it during the middle of the season before I lost a match to someone I shouldn’t have. She felt nothing before my state championship match and I won same thing with my subject tests. Yay for moms.
@snackpack I highly recommend watching Nathan for you. It’s on Comedy Central and it’s seriously so freakin funny
I will go skydiving for the first time if I get in hahaha anyone doing crazy things if they get in???
@tuty143 how’s your mom feeling bout the people in this thread’s chances
She says she’s got a good feeling
lol @RandomRhino I too am living vicariously through the photos of my friends at harvard
So do we all have friends attending harvard lmao
I don’t :(((
@tuty143 you would have the same feeling both ways hahaha seeing their acceptance letters, dorm, and everything just brings tears
Anybody get the chance to visit campus? What are some things that caught your attention?
Currently binge watching Jimmy Fallon on Youtube. He’s probably my favorite late night/ tonight show host
@redrabbit23 lol i just watched jennifer lawrence on jimmy fallon…literally laughed so hard. she’s the best.
I love J Law, I mean who doesnt? @magic125 Also Bill Cosby on jimmy fallon is absolutely hilarious
We are so far behind. Last years thread ended at like 261 pages!!!
@tuty143 doesn’t help that “Nathan for you” is actually funny haha, moving on to some jimmy Fallon as well
