@RandomRhino Nope same boat for me. My counselor was like “lol we don’t have them and semester ends in January!” And they asked for my current grades because they “need them this week”
@RandomRhino that just made me laugh so hard :)) don’t worry bro
Thanks @schroscat ! Guys I need something to pass the time, I’ve probably spent about 5 hours on college confidential in the past two days
@pubkid red x next to mine. Those don’t get sent till after january.
@flautamagica I feel the same way, haha: I just did all my homework that’s due Friday to feel like I’m actually productive.
@flautamagica you say it like it’s a bad thing
But pick up a project! Like learn a new piece of music to play. Use the anxiety to do something productive or fun! ( CC counts as fun)
@schroscat I wish I could do that! The anxiety is so bad I can’t focus on anything. I have a huge paper due Monday for my IB diploma and I’ve barely started. I have to miss school tomorrow just to work on it so ill have time between that and all the other applications I have to do
@snackpack02 that’s actually a really good idea!! I do have a piece I was supposed to be working on for the past like 6 months and I haven’t at all lol
Yeah we aren’t on a quarter system (I don’t think at least) Like the grades don’t restart each quarter and our transcripts reflect full semester grades. But for report cards the grades we had at the quarter are shows so idk!
@flautamagica I need to find a contrasting piece for other auditions…I’m just so preoccupied with the (tentative) 10th! Ugh.
I honestly agree with you guys about the level of motivation to do anything. What I say to that is: if we just sit and do nothing until decisions come out, how will that help us if we get deferred? I’m currently using that to motivate me to do all my work plus some side projects that would help me later on.
@schroscat Mozart in G Major would be a good contrasting piece to the two pieces you mentioned earlier! It’s a concerto and not by a French composer lol (Which is hard to find in good flute music)
@schroscat @flautamagica you guys are chatting about beautiful classical flute pieces and I played the marching snare in high school hahaha
@flautamagica Oh my gosh, that sounds great! Thanks!
@tuty143 ba-dum-pssh!
Anyone here thinking of deferring for a year? I’m considering it. I want to continue working (paid this time) at the neuroscience lab I’m at now (working on some potential dementia cures guys!!!), read a BUNCH, audit some classes just for fun, SAVE MONEY, and travel. I want to have a break since I’ll be going to school for another like 15 years (damn you medical school) and don’t want to burn out! I’m just worried I’ll defer and then end up having nothing to do or I’m thinking if I’m lucky enough to get in I’ll want to go ASAP
Anyone remember what that article about admissions is called? Can’t find it
@tuty143 marching snare is the most eloquent of all the snares
Jk I know literally nothing about percussion xD
All I know is that the percussionists in my county orchestra look hilarious running from drum to drum
@schroscat haha you joke but I was asked to do that far too many times. 8-| Its just funny cause there aren’t too many gorgeously composed snare solos haha.
@flautamagica I’d love to just take a break and be a human being for a year! But…money, haha. I could go and travel with my family in Turkey, but I don’t know how much I can travel without having the prospect of school in the future. Classes keep me grounded. Also, I’d like to be able to practice surgery sometime soon, so I’m trying to save some time. Haha. I’m never getting out of college. Weeee!!!
