Guys, please don't let random PMs concern you. PM me with any questions about the process. The people are wonderful and the orientation program (especially for fall transfers) is first-class.

mehhh i'm so jealous of everyone going in the fall! do you know anything about what they do for people going in the spring? we're supposed to get there are the end of january-- isn't that when everyone else is going to be taking finals, or is that at the end of wintersession?

And confetti tea, congrats! See you in Cambridge!

For Shaganov:

Spring transfers have it pretty sweet, too. All the Spring NewTs (New Transfers) I know are very happy with their decision and made a smooth transition into Harvard life. You arrive in late Jan. / early Feb after finals, and you have a shorter though still action-filled transfer program.

Whoa. I'm freaking out. I just looked at my requirements for a gov/history joint concentration. If I want to graduate with honors, or perhaps even without, I'm not sure if it would be possible for me to do that without coming in the fall. If it is possible, it would be a severe disadvantage. A requirement is to take gov 97, which is a full year course. All the required courses are full years, so I can't just start late. And because of wash U's tuition benefit, I have to graduate on time. I wonder if they would see this as a legit reason to switch to fall.... I guess they're closed now, but I really do need to talk to them...

what are the chances that harvard monitors this thread?

why? (10 chars) I'm not trying to be deceptive, it really does seem like it'll be a problem

ha, all i meant to type was why, hence the 10 chars

Congratulations Conffeeeeetti Tea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! So people are turning Harvard down...

i'd just be curious to know to what extent harvard is basing some of its WL decisions upon the remarks of individuals in this thread.

oh, ha, i thought you were responding to what i wrote about my major and coming in the fall. i wonder if they monitored us during the regular application process too. i guess it wouldn't be that hard to figure out who everybody is.

I got a call today as well asking if I wanted to attend Harvard, I verbally committed looks like I will be up there next fall. I never thought I would get off the waitlist does anyone know how many waitlist people they took?

dude---how did u get off the w.list, did u send in letters, or wat?

btw, a very big congratulations to you!!!

thanks, yeah I am really excited I don't really know how it happened I guess mostly luck. I believe they only had a few spots for waitlist people but I don't know how many, so I was very fortunate

congrats to all the newts. (seems like a lot of people on CC! as I understand it, breakdown is usually 50 fall people/20 spring.)

I am a spring '06 transfer, and just finished up my first semester.

If you want, you can PM me with any questions.

One piece of advice, especially for spring people: join clubs and finalize what you want to do for the summer ASAP.
You will not have as much time as you think you might, and the orientation/settling-in-process is a bit of a whirlwind.

To the students that were called from the waitlist: what all did the dean say? Any indication as to how many students got in off the wl or whether more calls would be made? thanks.

No indication if amy more people will be called and all that I was told is that I had an offer of admissions. Nothing about the number of waitlistees admitted or anything.

global facebook group anyone?

i like that idea

me too! will you make it, ali?
