Harvard University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

@LOA1000 i dont if thats any reassurance.

…Andddd the nerves set in… ohmygoodnessthisisactuallyhappening. Nearly two weeks until we get decisions…

How many make it to committee in total?

@LOA1000 not aware of any data on that unfortunately. but Id assume 2,000-3,000 (maybe less, maybe more).

Imagining a group of 65+ Harvard professors, ad officers, etc summarize my life into a single vote is pretty overwhelming…

@LOA1000 I don’t have a nonprofit, and I’ve only heard of high school students having nonprofits on this site.

Anyone been contacted for first quarter grades?

Nope

The only non-profit I started was a bank student checking account

It’s a subcomittee of 3-5 members, including the regional AO and a senior admissions officer, that determines which get sent to full committee.

Assume less.

My Nov SAT scores just arrived on Tuesday. Was a big improvement. Hopefully the regional officer didn’t already throw out my application and are more careful with this sort of stuff…

@LOA1000 on Harvard’s website they say that the November testings scores are acceptable. I think? that on the common app you could mention that you were going to take a test after submitting your app: if thats the case, you should be fine!

Is the Application Status Portal down for anybody else?

It is not for me @goodboi1 can you not see anything?

Just checked the portal and apparently, two more ‘Academic Work’ files were uploaded on the 20th, at the same time… checking with my counselor to see if they were hers.

Does everyone have a red X next to their mid year report?

@ballin2022 yep.

would you rather be deferred or rejected? id rather be rejected than feel the drawn out agony of waiting till march to only be rejected lol.

@MaybeHarvard2022 I would rather get deferred because I’m applying to other ivies… if I get rejected then that means that I probably have zero chances of going to another ivy

hard to imagine we’re getting officially decided on as of tomorrow. and deferred, because even though I wouldn’t reapply, at least I won’t feel as terrible.
