lilyfulford, your application sounds very competitive. I know Harvard is looking for STEM women and your EC and leadership activities speak for themselves. my interview was only a bit over an hour.
Ny14337, the more i see applications like your son’s, the more i realize my chances will be difficult. I think your son and i have similar applications. Very strong in every category but no big spike or hook. Of course essays and recommendations can make a big difference too. Good luck!

Read earlier on in this forum. It was discussed ad nauseum. The conclusion is that a very quick turnaround from submission to interview request probably correlates with some prioritization (“IVP 1”) but it is not black or white
@Robbyb Just an fyi…to tag somebody in the thread you need to put the @ symbol followed by their screen name like I did with you
Alright, thank you. I have read the posts on this forum and was hoping to hear more from those who were discussing it. I have also seen the documents that detail IVP and interview protocols but found the responses here that discussed previous applicants who had late interviews/early interviews more helpful. I was really just looking for other people’s experiences/interpretations, but it is by no means (as you’ve said) black and white.
@moscott
thanks
i recently discovered that my classmate, whose father went to Harvard, had two interviews, one alumni and one by an admissions officer. Has anyone been interviewed on campus? Is it a benefit or just a courtesy? i did not think to ask for one.
@robbyb usually interviews with admissions officers occur when prospective students go to the campus on a tour and interviews aren’t regularly available in their hometown. At least that is what they told me on my tour. I live very close to Harvard and I received an alumni interview 2 days after applying in mid October. I wouldn’t worry
does anyone here have a REALLY LARGE spike in their opinion?
I’m a member of Project 351, which is a youth leadership program endorsed by the governor, all 4 major Boston Sports teams, and no one who has applied from the program had gotten rejected in the last 8 years.
@pickitup ^ sorry still getting used to commenting
@pickitup I think I have a pretty large spike in engineering and STEM in general and leadership/mentoring but I’m not sure what you would consider a REALLY LARGE spike. I’m a URM and a woman in stem so that might help.
@lilyfullford @x2019x damn guys really good job
Has Harvard announced a date yet for when it will release decisions?
@rêveuse they haven’t yet but it has been speculated that it is December 13th. I also noticed that on the CSS profile it states that the day the financial package would be released is December 13th so I think that is the release date.
@x2019x thank you!!
Did anyone add awards to the uploading material section on the applicant portal? I want to and I am trying to figure out what the best approach is, should I add just a pdf of the award or two separate documents, one of the award and one of the description or try to merge the two docs?? Also who else is dyyyying from this wait L-)
what do people think of their own chances??
I uploaded a resume! @x2019x and then my gc uploaded my first quarter grades with teacher comments
When do Harvard REA decisions come out, based on previous years?
