Do any of you attend Harvard Westlake? If you do, why do you love it or hate it?

I attend Oakwood. I have some friends who go to HW and have had mixed experiences. It seems that if you arent in the top 20% of the class, the college counselors do not take as much time to help you out with the application process. If you are in the top 20%, then you will go to a great school guaranteed.

Everyone out of HW goes somewhere at least decent and most to good or great. This is the same with every private school in Los Angeles. Any specific reason why you asked about HW?

Beware of secondhand accounts. I know several college counselors at HW; they are committed professionals devoted to all of their students.

My friend attends there and says the competition is fierce. He said a good school is guarenteed if you get in top 10 percent.
middleschool mom, are you considering to put your child in harvard westlake? If you are looking for schools in the L.A area or a little further look into competitive schools like Beverly Hills High School, Loyola, or like Cleveland. Those schools have pretty good reputation in L.A.

The points you all mention are what im pondering. How firece is the competition among students. If your a mediocre student is the school not a good place for you? I hear the school is very competitive from other parents. Some stay away for that reason. Did any of you attend the Middle School? The campus looks great and the faculty seems stellar. All that is offered seems very enticing. Were all your teachers supportive?

Are all the schools that way, getting in the top 10% is important?
