Where did the smartest person in your high school get in ED or EA this year?

Considering our school only sends 20% of its students to four year colleges, we don't really get many top school applicants. For the longest time, the most prestigious school anyone has been accepted to is Rice. But even to there, no one has actually attended. This year the valedictorian got accepted to MIT, the first one our school has ever had. The saludatorian is applying to Duke, and he has a good chance of getting in, I think. Third in our class is applying to UT, 4th - Swarthmore, Williams, Haverford. Oh yeah, number 11 got into Notre Dame! We're all so proud. 2 are going to Trinity. Number 6 is applying to UNC - CH.
I'm the valedictorian that's going to MIT.

Valeditorian applied to Harvard- deferred

2 - Accepted ED. Dartmouth

3- Accepted ED, Johns Hopkins

4- Accepted ED, Cornell

5- Deferred, MIT

6 - Accepted ED, Cornell

7- Accpeted ED, U Penn.

and that's all I remember

Thanks, and congrats on MIT!

are you going to yale, yalebound?

I go to an average suburban public HS, so we've had a few to the ivy's, stanford, MIT, but it's always a big deal when they do. Last year, #1 went to Notre Dame on full scholarship, #3 went to MIT, #5 went to Denison, #2 and #4 went to Ohio State. They had a more than usual competetive class however, most years only 3 or 4 people make it into the ivys/ivy-like

here's a breakdown of my school

1 EA to MIT/Caltech/UChicago - Accepted at all

2 no EA/ED school

3 no EA/ED school

4 (me) SCEA to Yale - Accepted

5 ED to Duke - Accepted

6 SCEA to Stanford - Deferred

7 no EA/ED school

8 no EA/ED school

9 no EA/ED school

10 EA to Notre Dame - Accepted

1--Penn ED--Deferred

2--Harvard EA--Accepted (This is me.)

And then two kids applied to Yale, but I don't know their rankings. Deferred, and rejected.

1 (1600, 800/800/800, 9 AP classes which is every single one our school offers) got into Stanford SCEA.

1- princeton ed (from nj !) accepted
2- deferred columbia
3- deferred chicago
4- my friend and i are tied. i'm looking at swarthmore, yale, and penn as my top choices..he wants to go to wharton

Princeton
:)

Not sure about this year, but...
1. Deferred from MIT (he was completely full of himself and convinced he would get in, so I don't know where he applied RD)
2. no EA/ED schools so far, but applied to UNC EA
3. Accepted into Duke ED
4. Accepted into WFU ED

Last year:
1. Went to East Carolina University on a full ride (this one confused me and just about everybody else that knows him, as he could have gotten into just about anywhere) - I don't even think he applied anywhere else
2. UNC-CH (rejected for the Morehead Scholarship though)
3. Don't know
4. NC State with a bunch of money given to him

It's rare to see someone go to a MHYPS from here; typically the ones who can get into schools of that caliber end up at Duke or UNC with a large aid package. 10-30 top choices are often UNC or NC State.

I don't know of anyone else in my school who applied EA ANYWHERE. We've just had people accepted to state colleges and community colleges. I was deferred EA from Stanford.

1 - Princeton
2 - Yale
3 - Stanford
4 - Stanford
5 - MIT
6 - UT Austin
7 - Harvard
8 - Amherst
9 - UT Austin
10 - Williams

23 - Duke

i have three ppl rank 1 at my school. one person EA at yale, accepted with 1490 and excellent ec's, recs, .... the second person ED at johns hopkins, he got waitlisted. the third person, well, thats me. i didnt do ED or EA.

I don't know ranks but:
2 Harvard EA- both deferred
1 Yale EA- deferred
0 Princeton ED
1 Stanford EA (me)- deferred

We got people in Early at Penn, Dartmouth and Georgetown though...

adamo_e22 , why didn't you choose ea or ed at some school?

The two smartest people in our school applied ED to Tufts and got in.

1- Didnt apply anywhere early, said he was too lazy, but wants to go to MIT
2- Stanford - Deferred
3- No EA/ED
4- Harvard - Deferred
5- Amherst - Accepted (Me)

Oh and #7 applied to Yale and was deferred
