Harvard, Yale, Wharton, Princeton, Stanford Chances

I know all are reaches, but can I get maybe a little reassurance lol:

White Male Student from Las Vegas, NV

GPA - UW: 4.0 W: 4.8
Class Rank : 1/730 (cut off is 4.8 GPA) (Average school ACT is 27)

SAT II: Chemistry-670, MathIIC-710 (Might retake), USHist - 790
ACT: 33 (retaking in Oct, hoping for a 34+, but I am pretty satisfied with my 33)
SAT: 680 CR- 750 M - 770 W = 2200

EC / Awards:
DECA: VP (Soph and Junior), President Senior
NHS: 3 year member, Senior President
FBLA: 2 year member (Vice President Senior Year)
Basketball : 4 years, Varsity 2 years, Captain Senior Year
Science Club, Member for 2 years
NJHS, can't remember other middle school stuff, probably does not matter anyway
NHS President's Award and Outstanding Service in My Community Award

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
Nevada Boys' State Delegate
AP Scholar
Captain Varsity Basketball Team (May be recruited by a couple of those Ivies, have talked, depends on how well my season goes)

Last Year I was in 4 AP classes: Language and Comp (3), Calc BC (2 year), Chem (4), and APUSHIST (5), the rest of my classes are honors and required classes
This year: 5 AP Euro Hist, Lit, Govt, Physics, and Calc (plus student aide is my sixth class, hey I need a break too)
Only 3 years of Spanish

So chances at those five schools listed above, and if you want to chance me for USC trustee scholarship that too

if you're recruited for bball, you might hold a chance at wharton or perhaps stanford.

HYP = big reaches. SAT/SATII not high enough.

i thought his SAT Is are fine

Disagree with previous poster: HYP are MODERATE reaches... SATs are on the low end of normal/acceptable for Ivies (even HYP)... low, but far from ridiculous

class rank, athletics & rotary award are a very nice package

Good luck!

bump it up

reach reach reach reach reach...what can i say?

when is an ivy league school not a reach?

When you are a first team All-American athlete and an IMO gold medalist and a Siemens Finalist. Then maybe a couple of the Ivy Leagues could be safeties :D

If you donate 50 billion bucks to HYP those are your safeties

haha if i had 50 billion then I wouldn't bother going to college... lol...

Wharton is the school of business for Upenn I thought, the graduate school. You're going to be an undergrad lol.

You have good stats and definitely have a chance at each of them, but you never know with ivies and stanford. That being said, they are all reaches for you. Good Luck!

They have high schools in Las Vegas??? Oh.

Anyway chances are good you'll get into at least one of them. Better still if you are recruited.

to calculus; i thought you were smart considering you have a math subject as your name. Wharton is for undergraduates, you apply directly to Wharton from high school

Less than 20% at each of them, gives you almost 100% to get into one.

if he has a 1 in 5 chance of getting into each school, then he actually has a 1-(.8)^5 chance of getting into at least 1, or 67% chance.

raise ur score to 34 and i think u will have a shot at at least 1 of those
