Yes I know it’s time to let go but someone told me that in rare cases you can appeal a rejection. I’m not sure how that is possible given all of the disappointed people who were rejected and the hopeful folks on the waitlist but figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.
If you have a major positive update regarding your grades or extracurricular (with the former being preferable), then I would try. It’s one of those “what do you have to lose” scenarios, and at the end of the day it’s up to you.
If your intention is to reaffirm your interest in the college then I’m afraid it won’t be too helpful. In that case, I’d go with the general sentiment and move on. Have you gotten into anywhere else?
Yes fortunately u Michigan and U Rochester both of which are great schools, just not in love with either as much as Rice which feels like the best fit
Ah yes, I know someone whose parents are prominent contributors ($$$) to the school and they appealed their child’s rejection. Can’t say for sure that being contributors is the ultimate reason why the appeal worked, but I think it’s worth noting. Probably not the answer anyone wants to hear about.
Thanks, alas that is not our case
