I got wind that SUNY Purchase and CalArts are starting to call people this week. Have any of you heard from SUNY Purchase, CalArts, Rutgers, UArts, or DePaul?

Also, if anybody who went through this last year can give a time frame, that would be lovely.

Within the last couple of months, I read somewhere on CC a post by a mom whose S or D had applied to BFA MT/Acting programs last year which listed the dates letters were received from a number of programs. Unfortunately, I cannot find that post now. It's worth locating, so if anyone finds it, please let us know!

I was not the mom who made the post you are talking about....but I am happy to share our experience last year.Although I cannot remember the exact dates I can tell you about the time frame we received letters. My daughter received her acceptance from CalArts during spring break...so it was around the week of March 17th. She did not receive any phone calls or emails from them. The acceptance was a small box with a bow that said Congradulations! on it! Sort of took away the surprise hehehehe! Suny Purchase was a reg letter (thin) and it was a rejection. That came late...around the first week of April. We never received calls or emails from them. Rutgers...she was waitlisted and that information was available on the Rutgers check your status page around the 2nd or 3rd week of March. She later received a letter confirming the waitlist and then it seems it was early April when she received a letter that admissions were closed and they would not go to the waitlist. AADA she was accepted and she received a letter from them within 10 days of the Chicago unified auditions which was early Feb. The list goes on.....! But I am giving answers to the schools that you inquired about. It is VERY hard to wait...reminds me of the last trimester of pregnancy! I wish you all the best of luck!

movie2012. may want to continue discussion in drama thred, as we are talking about this now, and drama is always active, so under the Arts section, the discussion is also contemporary. My opinion.

My son got his colorful envelope from CalArts today - Character Animation. He got his acceptance package from the film program at RIT last week. He is still waiting to hear from USC and RISD.
