Any decisions yet?
@artskids - I called with a portal question on Tuesday and then asked, as it was already past the 15th, and admissions said they had just received the decisions and were doing the paperwork, data entry etc. and that decisions would be mailed “next week”. I then asked about the phone calls for accepted students and they said next week to that as well. Later than last year…
@rampions Thank you - interesting. They are on break next week so I assumed by the end of this week. My D is on spring break next week - were trying to figure out how to plan for follow up school visits. She has an accept at UArts and LIU; nothing from Pace or Purchase. I’d like to hear from both before we plan the east coast trip :-).
@artskids - we are in the same situation with long spring break not coinciding at all with being able to visit any of the schools she would revisit/visit for the first time if accepted. On top of that she is out of town most of the two following weeks for a senior class service trip that is unmissable, and Young Arts NYC regional week, also unmissable. So if she gets acceptances it will be very tight figuring out how to have her overnight and take classes, etc. to get a real feeling for the school. May not happen until the third week of April - and will involve her missing about three weeks of HS in a row, just prior to taking three AP exams… Of course this is a problem we hope to have!
Still have multiple schools definitely under consideration yet to hear from, including one which will announce on March 31, grrrr and another which is the dream school. Luckily she feels she “knows” the schools which she has acceptances from already, enough that she doesn’t need to revisit them - for those, which she’d be very happy with and/or pretty happy with, we are still awaiting financial aid info, though, so it’s uncertainty all around.
I believe Pace is done with acceptances. My D got a call over a week ago. My friend got a response to her email yesterday from Wayne Petro, Enrollment Mgr for Pace Performing Arts… “All letters went out slightly ahead of time this year with the last batch leaving our mailroom on Monday 3/14”. Letters are waitlist or rejections. They call acceptances.
@pamelama17 Yes - we assume all we need to know from Pace is “no” or “waitlist.” We will visit if she’s waitlisted (she has not seen the school - I toured 2 years ago with my S but she was not with us).
Artskids, was your daughter filmed at her SUNY audition? CC legend has it that being videoed at the audition is akin to callbacks. If she wasn’t filmed, she probably won’t be admitted. I don’t know myself if this is true. But, I can verify that, last year, my daughter was neither filmed nor admitted.
@YardleySisa She was filmed at auditions.
@artskids there is an acceptance showing in The Troupe - so I don’t know if calls are being made today…?
@rampions…I’ll tell my D!
No phone call here either . . . still waiting!
I am wondering if anyone heard anything yet?
@MommaOfArtist28 Some have reported acceptances and rejections. My D is still waiting to here. I understand acceptances were called; rejections received letters. Don’t know about waitlists/alternates.
@artskids Thank You…well no call on our end, but still hopeful!
My D got a “no” letter on Saturday - we live very close, so I’m sure it was mailed on Friday. FYI she had a callback there (filmed) and also a really great talk with the auditor so had been feeling hopeful despite the odds, so this one was a particularly big disappointment to her, even though she’s basically an MT applicant.
My D had the same experience as @rampions … it was a very nice rejection letter. One of the nicer ones. lol
@rampions , I’m so sorry for your daughter. What other schools is she still waiting on?
D received an email today - she is a high ranking alternate for SUNY. Two of her friends received similar emails - perhaps a new way of saying waitlist?
@rampions My S had a similar experience. Not that this would be his first choice, but he felt really good about the audition so the rejection came particularly hard on this one.
@artskids did all of the kids who got emails get a callback or taping as well?
