What is on the test and how hard it is????

I tried to take the French one. If the spanish one is anything like it, it’s really long, and it’s filled w/ grammar and vocab multiple choice questions. There are also these long paragraph questions where the question and answers are in English. I fell asleep after like 45 minutes. But then I also lack even the fundamental knowlege of French linguistics.

is there any time limits?

i also be curious if there is time limits. je t’aimais.

No, after I woke up and turned off power-save, the website is still there and it still let me choose answers & submit answers. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the time you spent on the website doing the test affects your score.

i have taken 3 years oh h.s. spanish but i want to take span 101 when i get to vandy. i dont HAVE to take a placement test do i? i would think that if you want to sign up for the intro course they dont want you to take one but there have been other things vandy has made me do so far that have seemed a little weird so this wouldnt be the first time they surprised me. thanks!

i took the online french placement test and i’m pretty sure the spanish one is in the exact same format. you pretty much answer a wide range of questions with grammar and reading passages, the same old from high school, etc. it took me a while to finish, but not very long. it was probably about a 10-15 minute test with no time constraints at all. of course, you dont want to be looking up answers, because this is meant for your own well being when you join a language class. just take it as best you can and i’m sure you’ll place into the class you should be taking.
