I’ve been told/seen the posts on here that transferring from UW bothell to UW seattle is a near-impossible feat, especially since I don’t have that many credits going in, but in my application i pretty much made the case about bothell not having my major and how my family life affected my education.
have any of you successfully transferred from UWB to UWS? Or any other people successfully transferring to seattle from another 4 yr with less than 90 credits?
I personally know someone who has been trying to transfer between campuses and this month was her 4th attempt since sophomore year (fall/winter quarters).
Not having her major was not enough. I don’t know what her intended major is, but I do know that it is closely related to Architecture, which isn’t offered at Bothell. In her essay (3rd attempt), she talked about how she considered changing her intended major and took a few quarters to explore other options, which is reflected on her class schedule----and resulted in wanting to double-major within the College of Built Environments (Seattle campus).
This time, she discussed her previous attempts/rejections and what she learned from such experiences. She mentioned how physically demanding it was for her to travel back and forth from Bothell to Seattle in order to take departmental admission prerequisites (none of her prerequisites were offered at Bothell). She then went on to talk about her unchanging passion towards Architecture/College of Built Environments even after all of those rejections. She has also completed all of the departmental prerequisites and some of the upper-level coursework, so we are hoping that, combined with her persistence, would make a difference.
@husky1212 oh man i wonder why they rejected her that many times though? I feel kind of scared now…
I really elaborated in my essay how i originally went to uwb to pursue biology then i realized i should follow my dreams of pursuing art and how passionate i am about it. I also talked about the impact of art in seattle’s cultural aspects and then my own personal hardship with my dad’s terminal cancer. I had a pretty high gpa last quarter if that helps but i don’t have that many credits right now since i’m a freshman. I applied for summer quarter too (if that helps) but mainly so I could get ahead in my studies
a nice essay certainly helps, but it ultimately comes down to your gpa. applying a bunch of times without improving your cumulative gpa wont help your chances of getting accepted
