I understand that the deadline for spring 2016 is in October. I’m trying to apply right now and there’s no option to apply. It’s only allows me to enroll into fall of 2015.
Hi there,
I applied for spring 2016 semester as a transfer. MSU doesn’t have a separate application for Spring 2016 so what you have to do is once you submitted your application, you’'ll be assigned a applicant ID number and a password you created. Then with that, you have to log in to your “Be a Spartan” portal where you can change the default semester which would be from fall 2015 to spring 2016. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your major and GPA?. I go Grand Rapids Community College and planning to be done at the end of the fall semester.
Hello,
I’m majoring in Microbiology. I attend Oakland Community College and I have 3.6 GPA at occ. I am expecting my transfer GPA to be closer to 3.8 because I messed up on a non-transferable class at OCC.
If you are curious about GPA, I highly recommend you attend a “transfer visit/orientation” when you can. During my orientation, they showed average GPA’s for accepted transfers for each semester. I believe Fall was 2.9, Spring was 3.1, and Summer was 3.3.
Based on my GPA, I am considering MSU my safety school. Hope that answers all your questions.
I did go to their transfer presentation back in April but I don’t remember them talking about certain GPA requirements each semester. My GPA is expected to be a 3.08 at the end of my fall semester. Now I’m assuming they recalculate your GPA by ONLY using courses that are transferable? Reason why I asked is because I had to take some non transferable courses at my CC in order to move on to higher math courses.
That is how I understand it. They take into account your CC GPA, but they recalculate using their own methods, which I assume are calculating the only transferable classes.
