Has anyone bought their books yet?

Is it better to wait until the first day of class or buy a book right now? What do you guys recommend?

Havn’t bought them yet. Also i don’t know which ones to get tbh :D

This question has been answered countless times. It is better to wait until the first day/week of class to purchase the books.

@DarkPrince Why is that? When you can find out what books are required and/or optional the classes your taking through the bookstore website.

Its better to wait because you woudnt want to get a book that you dont need and waste money…Well it depends how sre you are of the books you need to get.

Bme2684, that is because some professors will tell their students that the textbook isn’t mandatory to succeed in their class because he/she will rely more heavily on lecture notes. And some professors have you buy a book just to have you read a few pages/chapters. Also, students may discover that a friend is taking the same course and will be able to share the textbook/costs. Even if you decide to purchase books online, professors will give you-the student-plenty of time to do so. There are so numerous reasons to justify purchasing books during the first day/week of classes. Now my question for you (in general) is… Why must you (the student) must purchase the books prior to the commencement of instruction?

I already bought mine weeks ago. I emailed my professor so I wouldnt have to run back to the dorms to make sure I got a nice used copy offline

@DarkPrince Im purely just basing this off of how it worked at my CC. Typically the first day of class I would say at least 30% of the class had their books, and within the end of the week most of the class did. Honestly, I just like to play it safe considering Im switching over to a quarter system and it just doesn’t seem practical to put things off like getting my books, especially when I am ordering them online.
