Has anyone else not heard back from housing yet?

I applied by the priority deadline and even though it says that not all the assignments have been made yet even to those who applied by the priority deadline should I be worried? No one else I know going to Carolina next year has not heard back from housing yet.

Oh wow that’s horrible. I applied 2 days after the priority deadline, so if you havent heard from them yet that means I’m even more screwed lol
To make things worse I cant even remember what I put on that application!! hahah

Do you remember if they asked us to choose between a double with air-conditioning and one without it? I mean, I dont remember if they gave us that option to choose.

There was no choice for air conditioning. and ehaus is the only dorm without AC in every room…

At Ctops they said there were a couple dorms still without AC. They are working upgrade the electrical systems to handle window units in the rooms, but it’s not done yet. She said, and it looked like, Hinton James now has them all. But I believe there were 2 or 3 others she named that were not going to be done until next summer.

I think Craige and Ehringhaus must be the only dorms that still have some rooms without AC… I can’t think of any other dorms. They finished up Hinton James a few years back (and they finished up the sixth floor about a month before I moved in freshman year THANK GOD).

Well according the the housing website:

"My room is not air-conditioned. Why?

By Fall 2010, Ehringhaus is the only building that will remain partially air-conditioned (50%). All other buildings are fully air-conditioned. Additional window units cannot be installed in Ehringhaus until a summer renovation in 2011."

It’s because of the electrical systems in the building. They can’t support AC window units in each room, they are working to upgrade all the systems, and it seems Ehringhaus is the last one left to complete.

I’ll be in E-haus with no A/C and I’m actually glad I’ll be saving my parents $1000 for that. I can buy a lot of fans for a thousand bucks. And I live in NC and know how hot it will be!
