I keep catching them floating now that I watch them carefully. Are they doing this just for me, or is this a general phenomenon?

… like a duck?

Well seagulls are able to drink saltwater (and filter out the salt) so they may be floating to drink the water.

I mean floating in the air. levitating.

^Huh? Maybe they aren’t seagulls but aliens sent to kidnap you…

They float, yes.

I’ve seen them float too in a swimming pool. . .

" They aaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllll float down here . " What movie ?

The op is talking about Seagulls that hover in one place like a helicopter.

Yeah it happens on windy days. Gusts of wind push against the poor seagull.

Oh. No, I haven’t seen a seagull hover in the air before. -__-

Hover in the air!?!?! O_o Man that is freaky!

Hummingbirds do that all the time lol, but I’m a bird lover and never seen that happen. Do you mean floating without using its wings to flap or something?f

^ I didn’t know that you were a bird lover…
