I'm just curious. From what I noticed there have been "Don't go to _____" on virtually every board except Rice's. For ex: I noticed them on Harvard, Stanford, UChicago, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, etc....

Does this mean that noone dislikes Rice in any way?

I had a friend who didnt like Rice, but she admitted that she didnt try to make friends during O-Week, and was shy in the first few weeks of school, which is a crucial time to meet new people. I think it takes more effort NOT to make friends than to go out and meet people…

iirc Rice is ranked second in student happiness. I transferred to Rice from another school. I was pretty unhappy there. I’ve never had a bad week here at Rice though. I’ve had bad days, but even bad days were just because I didn’t study as much as I wanted to and weren’t actually due to unhappiness.

My freshman roommate wasn’t happy there, but it was largely his own fault. He came in from a small town in Oklahoma and was used to being the big fish in the small pond and didn’t adjust very well. I go along great there, and was happy to be just an average student.
