Has anyone gotten a letter this week?

Hmm. I'm a URM and I didn't receive anything. I suppose this is my "Likely Denied" letter.

No, I don't think that's the case at all. There's no way all the URMs got one, so try not to worry about it. :)

Im disappointed too.
Im a URM from NY that applied to CAS.
If I dont get my letter by Tuesday ill just take it as rejection :(

is this a likely letter?
if its official, i thought IVIES dont send them till the 31st... (Cornell abides by that for CAS)

Someone in the class of 2012 said she was accepted even though she was a URM and didn't receive her likely letter... i'm taking comfort in the fact...

lol to all the applicants who didn't receive likelies and are freaked out.

The amount of students accepted to Cornell is 3800 roughly. Maybe at MOST 10% of those got likely letters, and that's by far stretching it, I'd say 3-5% got likelies.

So it is more probable that you didn't get a likely even if you got accepted.

Quit worrying, you are just seeing a high percentage of students getting likelies because this is College Confidential, where the average student is above average.

I feel so special now after the 3-5% comment...don't worry the rest of you guys, I'm rooting for you!

I just got my letter! Got into CALS! The letter was dated March 2nd but because I'm international mail takes forever! URM, yes. Stats here:

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/635160-hey-guys-mind-giving-me-chance.html?highlight=Mind+giving+chance%3F%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/635160-hey-guys-mind-giving-me-chance.html?highlight=Mind+giving+chance%3F</a></p>

you guys were right!

wow, btw, what is CALS? Sorry about my 'ignorance'.

whats URM?? and it seems like no one from the rolling schools is getting anything anymore...

CALS= College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
URM = underrepresented minority.

gossipgirl, CALS IS one of the rolling admissions colleges. At this time though it seems that only internationals would still receive letters because of the distance, since it also seems that all letters were released on the same day (all for CALS, all for ILR etc).

yeah thats what it seemed like too. everyone got their letters the first week days of march. but someone told me that they keep releasing new letters every week for cals and ilr so i thought maybe someone got them this week.

I'm an International, and I haven't received any letter as of yet. Does this mean I have already been (technically) rejected? :(
Please tell me the truth. Lol, nothing else.
P.S: Applied to CAAP first choice, and CAS 2nd choice

no, it doesn't mean you were rejected.

I got a likely letter today! so they are still sending them out

Got one from Engineering today in CA. ORM.

My D got a likely letter from Engineering today! Very exciting since it's the first thing she's gotten from any college! It says the final notifications won't be made until the end of the month.
Too bad she can't go to the SWE weekend in April because of another commitment :( but she was already on campus for a program last fall and loved it.

What (and when) is SWE weekend?

knl57 which school did you get a likely letter from?
