gossipgirl17 - it was engineering

yeah ppl from engineering, architecture, SHE, and CAS are getting stuff but I haven't seen anything from Cals, ILR, or the hotel school that are not international. I guess that means they already mailed out stuff to the applicants who are finding out early.

i'm a URM.. i applied to CoE. i can't lie, i kind of hope i get a letter this week. but maybe Cornell is just not in the books for me.

Hi, I've never actually been to College Confidential before.
I was just cruising along, stumbled across this thread.

I got a letter from CAS on Saturday (March 14th).

It's not a likely letter if they tell you that you will be admitted, right?

And I think the only reason I got said letter is because I'm hispanic. There's a paragraph near the bottom that tells me to call the Multicultural Recruitment Office. I thought that was sort of funny.

Yay affirmative action...

WAMOM2: According to this letter, SWE weekend is a program on April 17 - 18 "Prospective Candidates Weekend" (PCW). Students can stay overnight in a dorm if they want and there are demos and tours, etc.

OMGG~~~!!! got my letter today (im international)

applied to: Hotel School

Wow this is great! You guys really deserve to be accepted! Keep up the good work!

Congratz Emmmy! Internationals FTW!

Thanks FB lalaland

omg soo excited =]

Has anyone recently received a "likely" letter (as in the last couple days) or are they done sending them out? I have a friend who got his likely letter from the college of engineering earlier this week. I applied to CAS and I'm getting anxious :/ lol

anyone not international heard from CALS? seems like very few people applied to CALS

Don't fret if you don't get a likely letter. I got into three Ivies (Cornell included) in '07 and didn't receive a likely letter from any one of them.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I opened that letter this week. At first I was scared and I was kind of suspicious of the fact that the letter was sent to me so early. lol. Yeah, the Multicultural Recruitment Office contact info, as opposed to the regular Admissions Office, had me and my mom laughing.

Mine said, "...you will be offered admission to Cornell.* Although the Ivy League schools won't officially notify students of their admission decisions until later this month, we wanted to share this good news with you now."* So I'm wondering the same thing, whether or not this is a likely letter. Congrats on the admission, by the way!!!

Were they all sent to URMs?

I'm a URM and I didn't see anything about the mulicultural recruitment office or anything when I got the CALS letter. Was that only for likelies or something?

CALS is rolling admissions. I think the multicultural thing (lol) was for likelies for other colleges within Cornell.
