SoCal,

It was on the website. He just got a letter from the College of Arts and Sciences that says he's accepted and has some information for him but hasn't received his official enrollment packet yet.

I just spoke to the admissions rep that came to my school recently and she said that it will be about 3-4 weeks until we receive a decision.

i am so frustrated that the site is not working...what do you guys think is wrong with it, and do you guys think that the fact we can make an email account means that we are in

no, just because you can make an accout doesnt mean you are in. you are in when they(IU and IU only) tell you that you're accepted. obviously if you applyed within the past couple days or weeks then you arent going to figure out for awhile. You are just going to have to wait till IU straightens everything out.

I just spoke to an IU admissions rep who said that the ability to set up an IU email account is not an indication of admission. Those who did paper applications are given the ability to set up an IU email address, simply so they can go in and check the status of their application. Those who applied online already provided IU with an email address, so they can go in and check their application status using that.

I'm sure we'll now get messages from people saying they applied online and can still set up an IU email address and wondering if this means they're admitted? She said the only indication of being admitted is IU stating you are admitted either in your online status or by receiving something in the mail from them.

I hope this clears this up once and for all. They're very backed up and patience is required. Freaking out isn't going to get you in any quicker. ;-)

Aimhigh,

Thanks for all the feedback.

It's easy to understand why everyone's a bit nervous--we've all been there before--and the waiting is the hardest part.

Calcruzer, nervous I understand, but if you go back and look at some of the posts, they went beyond nervous into freaking out. Many of these kids will get in. I hope they can just relax and enjoy their senior year without worrying about college.

And as YOU probably remember, senior year went by quickly. ;-)

Ha, Ha--I'm still trying to remember last weekend--much less what happened XXX years ago.

Has anyone called regarding their status? The website has been down for quite some time...

What is the phone number?

Stewbers, the answer is yes. Please read the thread asking if anyone has gotten in yet, and my previous post here.

I just checked my admission status.....and I WAS ACCEPTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO HOOSIERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

totally don't know how i missed this thread!
but
I WAS ACCEPTED TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job! I think it's really weird they let decisions out on weekends.

i totally ran to wake my mom up to tell her.

I just did the same.

Congratulations! You've been admitted to Indiana University. You should receive your admit packet in two to four weeks.

daaaaabulls (you must also be from IL with a name like that!) - I think you have a good chance of getting in, given your gpa last year, and your ACT score, which is fine. They may want to see what your grades are after your first semester this year, however, just to make sure you're still working hard. Give it another week, you may hear something in that time frame.

Anyone else getting an "updating check back in 30 mins" message?

hpandu, we were getting that message for several days before they changed it to, "You've been admitted". Ignore the 30 minutes thing, it's probably going to take a few days. The good news is - not long to wait now! Good luck to you.
