I got waitlisted after applying RD and followed up with my letter of continued interest (amoung other things) and am anxiously awaiting a phone call from Wake that may or may not come (praying that it does).

Im am just curious if anyone has recieved a phone call from Wake letting them off the waitlist. After checking other college forums i found that numerous other universites have already started letting people off the waitlist.

Thanks

I was also placed on the waitlist. I haven't heard from them, but I put a lot of effort into getting off of the list. I went down there for an interview last week, sent down 6 letters of rec, called them about 7 times and have written them letters of continued interest. They gave me the impression at the interview that they would taking kids off of the list starting around the 10th and that there were more girls sending in their deposits this year than boys, so boys will have an advantage on the list.

did they say anything about what time of day they would call if you do get off the list?

they didn't even say that they would call. They said that they would be sending out notifications in waves of letters

the waitlist letter told me that they would call first then send the letter.

they probably will, I would just expect sometime around a week from now

Hello. I found this forum by typing "Wake Forest Wait List" in google after I was desperate to get off from the wait list. I visitied Wake Forest last week without an interview but a meeting with the admissions counselor. I did not see any interview option on the letter of wait list notification. I'm Asian and hope this factor would help me getting admission as WF is trying to transform into more diversified community.

I thought I saw something about someone being on the waitlist and then sending in 6 recommendations. Here's some advice: it will not matter if you send in 4, 5 or 6 letters...but it will help if you send one really good one! This is key; 6 bland letters won't aid an application combined with the fact that it only adds to the paperwork.

Yes, you do want to show interest, come to the admissions office and introduce yourself again. Hopefully, you will have already visited the campus (they do look at the box on the application to see if you have visited). Send a letter of interest, but make it clear and concise. Also send any new honors you have received from the time of application. There is usually a certain order as to how things are run after initial acceptances are made. After you have done that, all you can do is wait and see.
