I sent my app in on 10/15 and got the confirmation e-mail, but I'd really want to double check that my teacher recs are safely in and everything. Has anyone received this "letter", and when did you send your app?

i just got it today! i'm excited. i applied on october 20th. ughhh i cannot wait until dec. 15th.

mail or e-mail?

i got the letter in the mail

Yeah, remember they have to send it via snail mail.

Metabola, would you mind telling us what state you are from?

connecticut. really close to new haven actually, if that made a difference.

Ugh, it's been about two weeks and over a week since the confirmation e-mail. I hope I didn't miss anything.

Anyone else, particularly someone a little further from New Haven? Thanks to metabola for responding.

The confirmation email comes from Common App, not Yale Admissions, correct?

I applied October 13 and got my letter October 22. I think it just varies. I wouldn't stress too much yet.

D applied on the 19th and got her letter today

can someone answer chr100's question?

actually I thought that the confirmation would come from Yale, and I thought I got it, but I apparently didn't because it wasn't in my email...someone must have posted it someone on CC....

uhh...how long did it take for everyone to get the confirmation email?

The Common App only sends confirmation emails saying that they've sent your app to Yale. You should receive another confirmation email/letter from Yale itself saying that they've processed your application.

I just submitted my app two days ago, so I haven't heard back yet... From what I've heard, it can take them upwards of a week.

I just got mine today and I submitted it last thursday

The e-mail comes from Yale. For us, it took about a week. The letter came a few days later, and two days later an alumnus called to set up an interview.

Ah, my timeline is a little different. I submitted on Saturday, didn't get an e-mail from Yale nor letter. But I did get an alumnus call already. By the way, typically, when an alumnus contacts you, when is the interview usually scheduled for? 1 - 2 weeks later? He wouldn't schedule it for less than a week in advance right XD

I'm in MN and I just got mine! Yaaay. (Submitted Oct. 19)

The alumnus who called wanted to schedule the interview for Dec. 12, but that didn't work, so it will be about a week before that. That timing may give a hint as to how important interviews are to the admissions decision.

Has everyone set up and interview? I sent my application early October and still have not heard anything back. I live in Michigan, around Detroit, and I've tried to contact everyone I can think of and I still have not been contacted by an alum. And does anyone know if we can hear back before the 15th, or is that like the offical respose date for everyone?

Not everyone is offered an interview, if there aren't alums in your area. But they say your decision is not affected because you don't have an interview.

I know, but it seems a bit odd to me that there is no one living in the Detroit area who is a Yale alum. But, I guess there's not a lot of time left so it most likely will not happen.
