I sent in everything early December, and got not a single e-mail acknowledgement that they received something from me. When I called they said they are still busy with EA and not to bother them. Every other school sends me at least an auto reply. It is now Jan 5 and others are posting they already are getting interview requests. So should I be worried? I did quadruple checked that everything was sent out from the Common App.

I would look into it because I already heard back and I sent mine in on the 31st

I sent mine on 31st too… And I got some information about my ID and stuff.

Yeah, I sent mine on the 30th and got my Eli Account info, and my interviewer contacted me yesterday. Just call the admissions office, it’s a valid concern.

I called the admissions office, the message states not to bother them unless I don’t hear from them before Jan 21. (The precise words were “refrain from calling.” They are just too busy to answer phone calls. An email acknowledgement is automatically generated and every other school has given me a tracking ID. Everything is time stamped on the common app so I will just wait.

i sent my app in early december and i already had my yale interview but i still haven’t gotten anything regarding my eli account…should i be worried?

That is strange, because like Joshie and futurepresident I sent my application on the 31st and I received my confirmation 4 days later. I think you should take mteverest’s advice and wait for a while though, they’re swamped with applications at the moment.

For some reason mailing works better than calling with most colleges (in my experience),

i’d recommend sending em a mail and takin it from there if ye haven’t done so already =)

as long as your commonapp says uve sent it yer fine :D, perhaps take a screeny of the commonapp screen and send that along with the mail?

good luck =)

^^I just realized mteverest is the OP, sorry about that.

OP

Assuming you sent it via Common Ap…check your Common AP acct and see if it shows as “downloaded” and the date stamp. That may help ease some worries.

Good Luck

An update: called Yale, the receptionist first told me she can’t check anything until Monday. After I pressed a little, she went into a her computer and confirmed they have received everything (which was end of Nov!). She too was puzzled why I had received absolutely no communication from Yale, so she gave me another email to ask. Apparently that belongs to the person who assigns the Eli accounts. So far no answer.
My impression is that every single school is receiving record number of applicants and they are still sorting through everything.

Follow the instructions from the below thread to check your status:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/yale-university/1075290-no-eli-account.html

Sorry, gibby, that does not work, you still need a temp pin sent from Yale.

It works if Yale has your email address of record on file. As it doesn’t work, then you need to call the admissions office on Monday.

Am I the only person without an Eli account? Called Yale again. The receptionist on the phone confirmed they have the whole file with the correct email address, but I still have not received any communication from them. The woman who supposedly assigns Eli accounts is out this week! The automatic reply from an email inquiry says they sent Eli account information by regular mail, in direct contradiction to the info on the website.

I also have not yet received an Eli account. The receptionist told me to email the person in charge of the account but said that I have to wait until next week to get a reply. I guess I just have to wait.

hooray! finally got my eli id, and two days later an invite for an alumni interview. life is good again. Go packers!
