Andover is unlikely to go to wait list for boarding boys either.

Groton is NOT going to their waitlist. It was confirmed by an officer.

choate is full, with some left for ninth grade

I do not know if they are going to their waitlist but we just said no to Middlesex so good luck to anyone waiting on them.

we just removed my son from the waitlist at MX early this morning

In anyone’s experience, do the schools feel the need to deal quickly to fill waitlists if they have them, or now that April 10 rush is over, do they take their time?

Has anyone heard of any wait list movement for Andover, SPS or Exeter? Have they given any updates about their yield?

I’m sure they let people off the waitlist know as soon as possible or at least in a reasonable amount of time. I’d give it a week or less.

I’ve heard that Andover is unlikely to go to the wait list for 9th grade boarders.

you all do know that you can still get off the waitlist when the kids actually have to turn in the big payments and they can’t afford to do so.
though, the likelihood of that could’ve increased from last year due to last year.

Anyone without somewhere to go next year may want to think about calling other schools they were initially interested in but didn’t complete the application. We received a call today from BU Academy inviting son to apply for the fall.

i’m waiting to hear from Georgetown… (no much hope!)

Does anyone know if St. George’s will be going to their waiting list?

what about groton?

St. George’s wl moved last week

baseball2 – posted above, Groton will not be going to their waitlist.

hsmomstef, Groton will go to their wait list once parents of accepted kids choke when they see the $48,000 bill. They will find it necessary to draw from the wait list. Not yet, but later.

has anyone heard from exeter/andover?

pan1956 – I agree. I think all schools will see waitlist movement when it comes time to pay the big bill (not just the deposit). And not only for full-pays that decide at the last minute that the bill is more than they can comfortably handle – I also think we will see people back out at the last minute who were awarded FA that is not quite enough to make it work for them.

This will be an interesting year for waitlist movement.

well, I am just speculating, but I think sending your kid to a boarding school is a big decision you don’t make lightly. When you plan a major expense like BS, shouldn’t you either know you have that much put aside, or know where it’ll come from? Economy didn’t go bad yesterday. At least the stock market is not worse than a few months ago when you started the process. After all the time and emotional rolling coasting you and your kid have invested, you’d change your mind in a instant just because you “physically” see the big bill? Pan1956, do you think you may change change your mind when you get the bill later? put it there just for argument sake.
