Has anyone heard anything and can anyone give me advice

Hi everyone,
First off has anyone heard from RPI yet???, if so what did you hear and what were your stats?
Second, what do you guys think my chances are rd at RPI, my story is:
I attend a high school in MA and moved to this country in 2000. I started out taking mediocre classes but progressively worked up to taking 4 APs this year, my senior year. Now the bad news: My weighted GPA and 3.5 on a 4.5 scale. I took the SAT three times and my best scores are
CR: 570
MA: 690
WR: 700 Essay 12
SAT II
Math IIC 780
US history 570
ecs are volunteering, math team, empty bowls, and art club.
great essay, i hope!

i really want to get in RPI and WPI, hopefully i will, what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance

I've been accepted to the Engineering College at RPI already, they sent me a special application and it was supposed to take 4 weeks for a decision....but it only took them a week. Anyway, I have 4.5 Weighted GPA out of 5.3, taking AP Calc and AP Physics this year(90% and 96% for the 1st marking period). For my SATs, I got a 710 Math, 650 CR, and 620 Writing. I have some very good EC's: Summer Engineering Internship, Computer Databasing Job, Competitive Ski Racer, Varsity Rugby, and I volunteered at a homeless shelter in Philly. My essay(only 1, special app) was close to amazing, I believe it really brought my application together, driving home my enthusiasm to become an engineer.

Overall, I think you have a very good chance at getting into RPI. It's not a very selective college(75% acceptance), so as long have you have the grades you are in(not like Cornell where everybody has the grades and they have to decide mostly by your EC's and essays). Your math SAT's are great and as long as you did well in your math/science courses, especially calc & physics, you should get in. The math team should definitely help as well.

I applied to WPI as well(havent heard), you should definitely get in there.

I also heard back relatively quickly that i was accepted. Did you use the candidate's choice app? or regular ED? b/c that may be the reason you haven't heard yet (sorry if there isn't a diffrence, i dunno) You're stats seems pretty good, here are mine:
GPA- 3.8 out of 4
APs- US, World his, gov, english, stat, spanish
SAT- M 690, V710, W700
Clubs: National honor society, national spanish honor society,
ECs: Coaching, JV volleyball, V softball, JV field hockey, V track, Newspaper, and work 20 hrs/week as a research assistant

Don't worry- RPI accepts many more applicants than it rejects. Good luck - it's a great school.

I've been admitted into the Engineering College :)
M- 740 CR- 660 W- 660
GPA- 3.7
Although I've applied to 11 schools and currently have no clue as to where I'll be going, my RPI acceptance letter was very exciting.
ECs- VTrack, VLacrosse, astronomy club, quiz bowl team, physics team, photography, and literary mag editor
I also submitted an engineering project of mine in which i built an electromagnetic levitation for a science fair.

MythBlazer, don't stress I think you have a great shot.

thanks alot for the responses guys
and congrats kaitlyn
