Has anyone heard back from UCLA after dropping a course?

Just wondering, i recently dropped a bio class (103: Molecular Biology and Genetics) as an anthro major. My counselor, teacher, and UCLA admissions said i should be fine since it doesnt affect my unit count, IGETC, or major prep. Its killing me, this 5-7 day wait, so im just wondering if anyone has gotten through this already.

hm, thoughts of getting rescinded are beginning to cloud my judgement.

You’ll probably be fine. I even submitted two change-of-class-schedule things which included a dropped class. The first time, it took over 5-7 business days to respond. The second time, they responded in just a few days. I highly doubt they’ll defer your offer of admission.

thanks for some piece of mind.

deewhy3, is the class you dropped required for major or Igetc?

“it doesnt affect my unit count, IGETC, or major prep.”

fail quoting

fail quoting?

jmeredith quoted you to answer the question above her post. but the question was not about you…

i guess maybe she wasnt answering the person before and answering mine. I tend to think some people respond to the OP without looking at the other posts.

that would be a highly strange coincidence

damn looks like today isnt the day, guess i have to wait some more, augh what a pain

did you put this information in the Transfer Provisional Problem Form? and did you need to accept your SIR before you could be able to do that? I’m trying to update it, but I don’t want to accept my SIR yet, because I can’t see any info on epal

i dont know if you need to submit your SIR to submit the provisional problem form, however i did submit my SIR before doing so. But i do think you cant see your ePAL unless you submit an SIR.

are you able to cancel your sir later if you choose not to attend?

yeah you just lose the $100 deposit, thats your only loss are you to choose elsewhere.

anywho back to the topic, there seemed to be too much digression here, anyone else heard back?

I have. I dropped my Economics class with a W 2 days after the Decision site opened its “Change in Schedule” site. I got my reply in a good week. I submitted my SIR the day before I got the reply to it. They OK’ed it and said it still wasn’t official until I finished with good standing and submitted my official transcripts. One thing I’m worrying over is whether that’s that or if I have to fill something else out. My admissions site went from the whole “decision is still being made” to “Congratulations!” again.

i heard back too, and the drop didnt affect me thankfully, now all i need to do is get at least a C in o-chem part 2( only class)
