I got my letter today.. i'm a Scholar Finalist in NY with a 204. congrats to everyone who also got it.

We most certainly want to post scores. In this way we help others whose schools don't care(my D) to get the needed info. Mootmom, you posted yours.

I respect the NHRP decision not to publish the scores of the confirmed National Hispanic Scholars. I don't think we should collect information that is classified as 'confidential' by the organization running the program.

We live in Texas and my daughter got hers today. She got a 197, and has a 3.909 weighted GPA. It says she is a finalist.

Got mine today, 194 w/ 4.0 uw gpa.

So has anybody got any actual unsolicited offers? I wonder when those will come? We have seen stuff on some sites, like University of Alabama potential full tuition, but competitive, Arizona State, and University of Arizona, that basically look like a full ride.
Other Universities like UT Austin, offer something like $2K or 3K a year. UT Dallas (which is a small school) likes like another potential full ride. U of South Carolina offers a Liber scholarship to National Hispanic Recognition Finalists that takes care of just over 1/3 of the tuition/ room and board…

Do a search on 'Hispanic' to find other threads regarding this topic. There are several and I found schools listed in other threads that I wouldn't have found otherwise.

I think that it is unethical for the NHRP to be so secretive. Why don't they be upfront and publish the state cut-offs just like National Merit does? It gives the impression that NHRP has something to hide or that the National Hispanic administrators are manipulating the list in some way. It is important to publish cut-offs so that students know when they have a chance and can make sure their guidance counselors send in the proper paperwork. Too many students lose out on valuable scholarships because of the incompetence of their counselors.

does anyone know what the ny cutoff is? i wish they would just post it somewhere!

For the HS Class of 2005, the NHRP Cut-off for New York was 186. I asked them.

has any body hear about the NHRP

bump. I'm pretty interested in this also, I think that it comes out a little bit after National Merit Semifinalists though

Bump. Does anyone think a 198 has a shot in FL?

I called NHRP and they said they sent out notifications today.

I'm in. Well, I think I'm in. The only distinction is between Scholar and Honorable Mention, right? It's not like Scholar finalist/semi-finalist and such, right??
