^^^ sarmango: yea letter says only scholar or honorable mention...with scholars having gpa's of 3.5 or better

Nice! Yep, I'm a scholar wooooo. Thanks, woowski777.

To fellow hispanics in my high school: step it up!! The secretary of my college counselor at my school didn't even know what NHSR was because no one ever got it at my school. :O

Got the letter a couple days ago. Scholar w/a 206.

Has anyone in TX received their letters?

got my letter a few days ago

honorable mention with a 207 and a 3.3 GPA.

I hate gpa requirements.
I outscored most of the people who got scholar, i think that should be worth something.

man, im a junior, i better get this. I already took sat and got over 2100, but i think i messed up on psat. hopefully i can still make it to scolar and be one of the top 5,000 mexicans/hispanics!

i got mine weeeeh =)

He Heh I got mine a month ago. 22099th percentile and 3.9 GPA. I just hope this thing will actually help with Princeton :P

It might help you get in but it won't get you any money if you don't qualify for FA since they don't have merit scholarships. Congratulations on a great score.

Yes a National Hispanic Scholarship will too get you money. There are probably a dozen universities in the US who will either give a full ride or partial ride to a National Hispanic Scholar.

University of Arizona is one of them, University of Alabama also gives a full ride to them if they pull of a 1400 on the SAT.

National Hispanic Scholar will put you on a list that colleges will use for marketing. Unless you accompany that early “promise” with a lot more substantial stats like Notafraid says, the choices will be extremely limited.

^^^^^ you could not be more wrong
