National Hispanic

What is the low range, mean, and high range for the National Hispanic Merit thingy...I've been looking, but there isn't a definitely answer.

bump this ****

what is THAT?

It depends what state you are in and whether you go to boarding school, live outside the U.S. or other factors. NHRP is very secretive, so secretive that it is a red flag that some manipulation of the final list might be going on. I became suspicious of the program last year when a 183 PSAT recipient in NJ got the award but a 185 scorer in NYC did not.

180's?! O.O OMG I MIGHT STILL HAVE A CHANCE!!!!

I've been wondering about that. . .I got a 212, but I haven't been contacted by the National Hispanic thing, and I HAVE been contacted by the National Merit Scholar thing. Is that normal?

What is National Hispanic? I am interested.... :D

Thats for juniors right?

DualAnya:

In some states you would be eligible for National Merit semi-finalist, in others just commended scholar. What state do you live in, and are you an American citizen? For NHRP, you should hear by the end of the month. Your guidance counselor would have been contacted last spring. Again, you have to be a citizen.

DANG! That's lower than the one for black people!

I know if you're black and you want to be contacted for the black one, you have to check that you want the black one.

I think you have to do the same thing for the mexican one. So if you didn't check that "YES I AM HISPANIC AND WANT THE HISPANIC PEOPLE AWARD" then you can't get it.

I can win the one for black people. Its in the 190s.
