Has anyone heard from the conservatory?

Today's mail was without news from Oberlin. Has anyone received a letter from the conservatory?

My son applied to the Double Degree program. Yesterday, he got his acceptance to the College, but no news from the Conservatory yet. Since we live in California, I hope to read on this board when people have received their letters, since it takes a few extra days to reach us.

Congratulations to your son on his College acceptance. My son just heard that one person he knows received his Conservatory rejection letter yesterday. Hopefully delayed news is good news.

received two oberlin letters yesterday. accepted by college and rejected by conservatory. conservatory letter stated, '... you would be welcome to enroll in several music courses during your first year at oberlin and eligible to reapply for conservatory degree status during the 2006-2007 academic year.'

agggggg! I'm a double degree student and I still havent heard from the conservatory

My son just got an email from the conservatory telling him he was admitted. Haven't checked the mail yet. Good luck to everyone.

I just checked my email! I've been accepted to the conservatory. I also received a 7,500 scholarship that apparently is part of a larger package from Arts and Sciences (I'm a double degree student)

my best friend just got into the conservatory for organ. we live in ca.

Congratulations Beethoven's 10th, rhapsodynshadow and squiggle22's friend! My son called last night and had received his acceptance through email. This was his second try so we are thrilled that he got in. He is a double degree transfer so will have to wait to hear from the college.

frogpond- last year my son was rejected by the conservatory and waitlisted at the college. At the parent meeting on audition day, many of the current students said that they had auditioned twice and transferred in. He had been accepted to a different double degree program so planned right away to reaudition this year with the knowlege that he was already attending a fine program if it didn't work out.
Best of luck to you in your decision making.

thank you, pianomom, for keeping things in perspective. i will definitely keep what you have said in mind.

Anyone apply to the conservatory for jazz? How competitive is jazz studies, as opposed to solo performance?

I've applied JUST to the conservatory, and I was wondering if anyone has received a letter of acceptance who didn't receive an acceptance email.

i was accepted to the conservatory by email but have not yet heard from the college. does anyone know whether or not the college sent emails?

thanks
