I hear ya! I keep checking the portal and checking the portal.
have you been getting an email to check the portal when the decisions are released?
My son (OOS) applied before 11/1 deadline, all supporting materials in on time, and only today got an email saying āYour application is complete and ready for review. You have met the priority application deadlineā. Not sure why he is getting this now - maybe because I submitted the FAFSA a little later? Did anyone else get this email with a long delay after submission? I canāt see how we will receive a December decision if they are only now starting to review his app. Congrats to all who received admissions offers!
Same with my OOS son. He got this same email on 12/4. Was very strange seeing as we hadnāt submitted any other application materials in a month. Not sure what to make of it. His stats are marginal (4.3 weighted and 710M/630V). Mines isnāt his top choice, but itād be nice to know.
@helicoptahmom and @manutebol that likely means they are now under review. Ours was in by the first week of October and we got a completion email immediately, but at this point (back in October few applications come in daily) they are playing catch up to make all decisions by 12/21. So, itās likely a good sign that the file is good to go. I think they manually look and make 100% sure everything is in. Seems like many folks waited until the end, as usual, maybe even more so than normal since many were taking their SAT later than usual.
@locococomama thank you so much! Itās so helpful to hear about other peopleās experiences.
hi sorry for the late response, but it said āthank you for applyingā up until i got accepted
my D got accepted today (12/11) w/ 14k scholarship. she got a text to check her portal in the morning. submitted by 10/23.
Did she get an email from the admissions office saying that her application is complete and ready to review prior to receiving decision?
DD also just got that email, even when we filed all her application and financial aid materials by Nov. 1.
Congratulations!!! When is the acceptance deadline for Mines?
For early applicants, they are supposed to know by December 21. That said, in past years, some were not given official rejections until the spring. While I donāt think they official defer the applications, that is basically what I have seen others say was done, although all the ones I saw were eventually rejected.
DD was accepted today with 14,000 merit.
OOS 3.97 UW 4.4 W
33 ACT 34 superscore
applied October 27
Received admission letter with 12,000 merit, but after logging in I could not see where the money is.
@fnpony can you tell your stats please? GPA? Test scores? APs? When was your application complete?
15 AP for 4 years. ACT 34 (35 if superscore). I submitted EA by the deadline, but I am still not confident that I will win full-scholarship here.
Looks like your sons have applied for many colleges. So do I. I have applied for 20 colleges so far and still countingā¦
@fnpony yes they have and there being two of them obviously makes it even more, as they have applied to few of the same schools since their desires are so different. 10 for my engineer and 14 for my business major. In addition to not being sure if they would get into the harder schools, they are also trying to get the most merit aid possible and that will come into their decision. On top of that, COVID stopped us from visiting last year, so schools that maybe would have been crossed off after a visit are not. We are hoping to be able to get out and about to see the schools they have yet to visit so they can make a well thought out decision. The engineer will have an easier time of that than the business major, as those schools are far more in person. Waiting to make plans until January/February, but I think it is essential to make a good decision.
I have received 4 admission letters so far. Good luck!
I applied on October 21st and I just received my acceptance today
