ah, ok. my hunch is that they were all sent in one wave and that was it, we will see if anyone gets a packet tomorrow without getting a status change…

My Ds status changed Saturday morning. Friday night she still had the generic “we received bla bla bla”.

Saw my son’s status change this morning, but I have no idea when it happened. We are in Florida.

WAIT, ARE YOU GUYS SAYING A STATUS CHANGE MEANS YOU GOT A MERIT SCHOLARSHIP???

I’m doing the best research I can, but I’m just too overwhelmed to be sure of what I’m understanding. I haven’t gotten anything in the mail, but my status now says “The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results of this online through USConnect March 29th at noon Pacific Time.” I live in Texas.

Thanks for any clarification!

Actually, nobody knows what it means. All I can tell to is that trusted sources don’t know exactly whats happening and that in the past things like this have been indicative of a merit scholarship. some people have reported getting a status change and then receiving notification in the mail. All of this information can be found in the first 5 or 6 threads on the main USC CC page. However, since some of us have received this notice and others haven’t there is a fair chance that it means something good for those whose status was updated.

In the past the status change to “acted on…” has been a reliable indicator that a package was on its way. At this point in the cycle that means an acceptance (later in the cycle - late March - it may mean an acceptance OR a rejection). Those accepted at this point in the cycle have traditionally either been awarded a Dean’s 1/4 tuition scholarship in mid-February outright or have been invited to interview for a Presidential, Trustee, Stamps or Mork. This year it appears the scholarship interview invitations are arriving with the acceptance packet. Those who do not get the invite may receive notice of Dean’s in mid-February.

International students have, in the past, received DHL emails saying a package was on the way.

Thank you Alamemom for clearing that up. Do you happen to know if letters of scholarship rejection - " your are still being considered for admission…" arrive around this time as well?

The “no scholarship” letter, which typically asks that mid-term grades be submitted (if they haven’t already) has arrived in mid-February. However, some applicants reported not receiving one at all. I am hoping (so this is just a hope of mine - not actual information) that this year they decide to send out an email all at once saying that applicants have not been invited to interview for scholarships - reducing the waiting might reduce the stress and sadness a bit :)

I live in the northeast and my status changed (idk when).

I live in Hawaii and I’m still waiting. I think I’m going to accept defeat if nothing arrives by Tuesday.

In AZ, still haven’t seen a status change. Don’t lose hope, Trojans

Im about to accept defeat #:-S

@intermsof I’m waiting until after tomorrow’s mail, then we will know for sure

Is it possible it just changed for people who manually submitted their mid year report?

Why do you people accept defeat so easily! Give it a couple weeks. Only accept defeat if you get rejected. Then make an appeal. Even if you don’t get merit scholarships, you can still apply for outside scholarships.

…

and uh… FYI, just checked the status and no change.

It changed for our son and he didn’t submit a mid-year report.

I got a status change and no packet. Any1 else?

@ninja4hire outside scholarships are tiny compared to what the school gives. If it is unaffordable it is unaffordable there is no point in chasing a dream that is out of reach…

I got the status change Saturday morning to “the committee has acted on your application…etc” but I just checked it again and now it’s back to the old status. Is this just a glitch? Or am I getting punk’d…? :(

I live in WA so hopefully I’ll be receiving mail later today or tomorrow.

meerkatt, same here , can others who have a similar status change earlier,
please check and respond.
