Has anyone successfully transferred to Johns Hopkins University?

If so, could you share some advice on the matter?

I'm at UC Berkeley and am a first-year. I want to transfer to Johns Hopkins to major in chemical engineering.

My gpa is 3.5-ish, 34 act, 800 and 700 sat 2's, etc..

Thoughts/comments?

i want to apply to jhu bme, but their transfer rate it quite low, sometimes even less than 10%. I can’t say how competitive chemengineering is, but I’d imagine that many bio/chem majors are quite competitive.

Daughter applied to enter as a sophomore this fall but did not get in. She had a 3.9 GPA at a highly competitive liberal arts college, extraordinary recommendations from her college professors, outstanding extra-curriculars in both high school and college. Her ACT composite was a 34 as well, and she had similar SATs. Hopkins takes fewer sophomore transfers than juniors because they are required to provide them with housing, we were told. You will likely be affected by how large their current freshman class is, whether they over-enrolled, their usual attrition rate, etc. Additionally, our daughter needed financial aid and that certainly entered into whether she was an attractive candidate in this economy as well. I think they are need aware in the case of transfer students.
