i hate school so much. The constant worry of getting a B scares the life outta me because that lowers my chances even more for Princeton and Upenn. I really am trying to get a 4.0 but it seems so tough. AP chemistry is literally beating me up. Took me 2 hours to finish up 1 test and i think i failed it. SIghh! Then theres that freeaking AP test and SAT 2. Then the SAT1. Then College Apps. OMG ITS TOO ANNOYING. I better get into one of my top choices or ill freakign burn down my school. Any tips on helping me through these rough patches?

Once a week, find a way to TRULY relax your ass off.
Example: On Saturday night take a bubble bath with relaxing music.

So you know there's a reward at the end of your week. =D

lol sounds great but my tub is too dirty =[ i mean its not that dirty but u cant sit down in it. u can stand up and take showers but i dont think its clean enough to put ure butt on it.

just party man! chillax!

disconnect yourself from the stress.

For me, it was writing and photography but whatever can draw you away from the stress is good. Go take a long walk, or drive around with no destination. I know, it sounds incredibly cheesy but it's cheap meditation.

Go to a party, live it up. You're only in HS once. As a senior, I regret not going out more in freshman/soph year.

Don't worry too much about the grades either. Do only the work that is necessary for you to understand the material. Half assing the busywork might occasionally annoy a teacher but in the long run, you'll do fine on the tests-- and keep your sanity. If you put aside the work that you don't need to do, you'll have more time to sleep--and sleep is good.

If it helps, organize your stuff too... I have everything in an Outlook calendar with tasks and everything, just to keep myself organized. that'll cut down on alot of stress too... just 'cause you won't have to remember what you need to get done..

last thing--- breathe.

oh dam. I totally forgot that one. Breathe. anyways, idk ill see what works.

I still haven't found time to truly breathe this year. :P <-Whoa, that looks weird

lol sounds great but my tub is too dirty =[ i mean its not that dirty but u cant sit down in it. u can stand up and take showers but i dont think its clean enough to put ure butt on it.

ROFL mine was also before I cleaned it like 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, it's not a very good excuse.

yeah um. think about the poor children who are suffering to KEEP their 3.5 because her school thinks every time she cries she's suicidal and decides to send her home.

you'll be fine. as long as it's not a c.

Breathe. (10 char)

I got into Sarah Lawrence with a 3.5; you'll be fine. And remember: there is a life outside of the Ivy League.

calm down. really. worrying only makes it worse. whats done is done don't worry about the tests that you took. good luck

When you get overwhelmed, just quit trying to work for a while. Whether its an hour or an entire evening, just relax until you calm down. Then start working again.

Become a nerd and befriend nerds. It's really very effective. If you can have fun discussing material from class, you can both review/study while being social at the same time!

Read. It gets you away from the 'real world' for a while.

There are other great schools outside of Princeton and Upenn. Don't worry. A B brings your GPA down to what? A 3.8? Don't worry. Besides, a 4.0 means nothing when you are applying to Princeton. Everyone has that. You sound very smart and I"m sure you will get into a great school. It isn't smart to think of it as Princeton/UPenn or bust. There are tons of great places. How successful you will be in college and after all depends on you, not really the school.

Don't obssess over one B. Worrying makes you do even worse (especially on tests, and I should know). Also, try to apply to schools because you truly would enjoy the atmosphere, location, etc. of the school. Ivy League is not for everyone, even with people with good scores.

You hate high school because you are putting your priorities on things that are not as important or worth being stressed over. When you learn what your true priorities are, you will feel better.

Good luck with AP chem. I almost failed college chemistry. I am never touching chemistry again.

Remember that your specific scores do not matter. They look at a particular range. For example, having a 3.7+ is good. That may be what they look for. Having below a 3.7 may hurt you. So, you see, having below 4.0 doesn't hurt you because as long as you are in a certain range, you are fine. You need to do some research to find out what the range is for your schools.
