For those of you who have been accepted have you begun receiving materials from your school for the 2012 school year? Have you received materials such as registration, class placement/questionnaire, dorm preferences, etc,? How do placement tests work? Do you take them at home? And if so isn't it a possibility that someone else could have taken it for you?

Be patient. You’ll get forms, papers, etc. in the mail periodically. Questionnaires regarding dorm preferences will probably come over email. Placement tests for most schools are online and you should be receiving emails about those sometime within the next couple of months. I would just periodically check your email to see if your school has sent you anything.

Yeah ! I already got mine from Milton! Going to do my placement test in a bit :D. For me, I am. I’m suppose to sign that I completed the test myself with help from no one. No dorm preferences yet though.

I haven’t received any. And it’s pointless to ask someone else to do it for you anyway - you will struggle next year if you do.

Just received my residential preference and questionnaire sheet from Andover. They said they would be sending more material soon, like an enrollment notification, but mentioned nothing about a course catalog. Can’t wait to received the course catalog though!!

@prowest: did Andover send it to you by email or mail?

by snail mail

St. Paul’s sent the materials just a few days after the acceptance letter went out. Class registrations, athletic registrations, music lesson signups, and the housing form were included.

For the math placement both the student and their current math teacher fill out a form - there is no placement test. For languages, my daughter sent in a reply card and at some point there will be a placement test. I don’t know what the advantage of cheating on the placement test would be, since the only person who has to live with the consequences is the kid who is in too advanced a class for their ability!

Just received the course registration + my student email!
