Have any of you transferred to NU from DePaul or Loyola?

And does transferring from a Chicago-based school help your chances?

I am curious…NU has not made their RD decisions. Why are you, as a senior in HS, already talking about transferring colleges?

My ACT score at the time was not exactly stellar. I retook the ACT yesterday and am sure I scored substantially higher. With that being said, I would apply for undergrad admission, but the deadline was in January.

I know that many people say “don’t think about transferring until you begin school.” I visited Chicago a few years back and loved NU’s campus, as well as the tradition and their highly ranked business program.

Thank you for the explanation. What a shame you did not apply to NU back in January.
It sounds like you did get an acceptance with DePaul & Loyola. That’s great!
Transferring into NU is possible, but to focus on that right now may be a waste of your time and energy. Too many variables between now and the time you actually apply for a transfer-you might be better served figuring out which college is the perfect match for you based on 4 years of attendance, and go from there.

APOL, I scored a 24 on my ACT, which was why I didn’t apply. Most applicants who score under a 28 aren’t even considered, so I figured why waste my time? I retook the test on Saturday and felt really good leaving the building; after all, I had taken 8 practice tests over the past month.

NU’s transfer rate was not too low (22%) last year, so I figured if I can keep a good GPA (3.7+) along with an internship and some clubs, I would have a solid chance of being admitted to NU.

I love this school so much that I would give up my scholarship from DePaul to go here :D

Do you love it enough to actually take a second and find out there is no undergraduate business program?

Quit picking on me lol

get a 3.8+ and you are good to go

I currently have a 3.93 UW GPA in high school, 10 Honors/AP courses (no AP tests)

Ranked 43/504 (top 8%)
ACT: awaiting new scores which are made available on February 22nd. My original score was a 24 but I believe I scored considerably higher this time around.

Hopefully in a year or two I will be going to NU :D
