Transferring to NU

Hi all,

I'm taking 2 years at a community college in Illinois. I want to transfer to Northwestern University when I'm done majoring in Pre-Med or Chemistry or however they classify it. I have a 3.9 after a year but I only got a 27 on my ACT in high school. Do you guys think the ACT score will kill my chances? All I've heard so far is that NU doesn't like to accept transfer students but I'm not sure if it's just rumors.

Supposing i can't get into NU, I've been looking into Loyola University Chicago (I want to stay in Illinois if possible.) Can anyone back up what I've heard about them? I've heard so far that they have a pretty solid science program, one of the best in Illinois. What would my chances be of getting into Loyola? Thanks.
