Have you ever skipped school before?

hahahahahhahahahha. oh man… I’ve missed school SO many times for debate tournaments. and when there’s a sub, I never ever ever go. at least our school is less stringent than some of your guys’… 0.o

7 at my school. You can make it up though if you attend “zero” hour though.

You can’t miss a class more than 4 times a semester at my school, or you get make-up hours. Which got me in a bit of a situation last year for missing cause of SURGERY…sheesh.

yeah… skipped AP econ/psych to go out to an all you can eat chinese buffet about 30 minutes away with some friends. Great decision.

However, i don’t do it often and don’t advocate doing it more than a few times.

nope but on Senior Skip day which is friday i will not be at school.

Im a junior, and have NEVER skipped school. when i get sick, my parents force me to go. then it’s a huge hassle because then i call them to pick me up 2-3 hours into school while im dying. but ive never missed school because of illegitimate reasons.

I’ve missed my college classes before because of oversleeping, etc. As for skipping because of a project or test? In college, an assignment or test is due day x, and you’re not going to turn it in on day x+1. Projects are due that day whether you’re sick or not–have someone else drop it by. Tests, you better have either been in the hospital, or have a detailed doctor’s note stating you weren’t able to take the test because you were sick, not just that you were really sick.

I was late to my high school class earlier this semester because I was finishing an assignment. Seeing as my grade’s like 30 points higher than the class average, the teacher doesn’t really care.

Obviously, I’ve missed school for certain legitimate reasons. . . when the government appoints you as something, you better to all the official something-ing it expects.

7 days a year? I’d kill myself. I used to take a day off every other week.

I used to skip school a LOT in my middle school and early HS years. I didn’t like school too much (esp in middle school) and it was so far away it was a HUGE effort for me to go there. My day was from like 7am to 6pm including travel time so I wouldn’t go if I didn’t have the energy for it, anyway I could easily catch up. I also used to skip school to study for my exams.

Now in junior year tho, it a whole different story. I actually like school and I find it much less physically taxing because it’s so close to home so I’ve only skipped ONCE in two terms and that was, ironically to study for my SATs.

" Tests, you better have either been in the hospital, or have a detailed doctor’s note stating you weren’t able to take the test because you were sick, not just that you were really sick."

Mich engineering is really cool about this actually. If you contact the professor ahead of time about your sickness, they should give you a new time to take the test after you recover.

Though we still take a bunch of classes in the liberal arts school, and they don’t do that. Only for engineering classes.

I skipped school a lot in middle school too (that 40 day thing, I’d be gone 39 days) until mid-endish 7th grade… I just grew up.

Lol I took till late 9th grade to grow up. But I realized it’s really hard to skip school enough to be in danger of failing - we only had 85% attendance necessary.

Nope, I’ve never skipped school. C:

I mean, I did on the day where they told us not to go to school because of some event (administrators even recommended not to go).

if you’re the guy who’s taking Calculus as a freshman, then definitely go for it.

I am the OP.

OMG. I’m pretty sure I failed that test… Yeah I should’ve skipped. Either that or stopped wasting time on CC to study on Sunday. :P

My school allows 3 unexcused absences a semester, and I have used all of my unexcused absences. :D

I love Michigan. They can’t fail you for missing too much school :D.

You’re a freshmen in BC?

why would i want to skip school its awesome

I’ve skipped school only if…

 1. I was really really sick
 2. I needed to study for a test
 3. Family Emergency

Yeah, I hate all my teachers and classes except for English and computer class…
i skip, but not enough to get in trouble.
