Is ditching school tomorrow a good idea?

Basically, the weekend is over and I really didn’t finish as much work as I wanted to. Ironically, I’m not even learning that much when school is in session, even though I’m an IB junior. I’m planning on ditching the whole day by going to my sister’s college library, which is very close by to my high school. It says that I’ve missed 7.5 days from being sick, but in reality I’ve actually missed 10 days (guess they took attendance wrong), yet it doesn’t matter how many days you miss unless you get them excused.

I’ve ditched the whole day once to go to the library, and I got 10 times as much work done as I would’ve in contrast to doing it at home/school.

However, I have a small presentation in French tomorrow (which will span out in the course of 2 days or so for the class), so I might miss it. Also, I feel like I’ve missed too many days just because I haven’t felt like it.

Should I do it again one more time just to catch up on all of the work I missed in the days I was recently absent?

I would say no…then you will just get more behind. Figure out what you didn’t get as much work done as you should on the weekend

If you want to be cool and rebellious, do it. You’d miss key lectures not being there.

No.
You do realize you are on a website called College Confidential?

I feel really bored with school as well. If you want to make up some work or whatever yeah you should do it. I stay home often as well, never get behind

That is a lot of days to miss. While taking IB courses is a difficult thing to do, it should never require you to ditch class in order to be able to complete homework(even if you were out sick). I (currently a junior) have only ditched a single day this entire year while taking 6 AP classes (and I’m not even a good student). I go to school even when I am sick (have done this maybe 7-8 times this year already).

You really need to start getting your game on. 2nd semester is indeed when grades start slipping (I went from 5 A’s to only 1 A and 4 B+), but even my grades haven’t slipped that bad. Going from B’ to C’s and F’s is a really big issue.

Also, your predictions have really been off.

I know predictions are hard, but predicting all A’s that end up either low or failing is not a good sign. Colleges will really want to know how your GPA went from a 4.0 to 2.1 in a single semester. Getting sick sucks, but a week out of school is no excuse for nearly cutting your grades in half.

If you think that you can handle the work that you’ll miss, then by all means go ahead. Everybody needs days to just catch up, even if they are extremely smart. Attendance isn’t everything. Just get the work done; do what you gotta do. Sometimes days in classes are just completely redundant and the entire day is just spent playing Kahoots or doing a worksheet. If you aren’t gonna miss anything major, go ahead.
