Just wondering, if any of you have been in a car accident, how bad was it? I dented/scratched our car about a week ago and parents found out about 2 days ago . . not even going to say how I did it since it's pretty embarrasing, but they were pretty p'oed heh. Anyway, what about any of you, any stories (hopefully succesful) to share? I don't know how common it is on this board, but accidents are quite common at my school . . doesn't surprise me that the #1 death reason for teenagers is car accidents.

sarah's been drinking n' driving

I have never been in an accident...yet, but have been damn near close to one.

I know a ton of people at my school(and family) who have been involved in accidents. People who were smashed into, involved in rollovers, hit from behind, hit by a car, etc. I guess I have been lucky so far...no accidents or tickets.

I've never been in an accident, because deer don't count.

I've never hit a deer though. I've almost hit deer, but so has everyone else.

My post count is going down =/

Where I live, you are more likely to hit a cyclist than a deer. The deer usually stay in the forest while the cyclists bicycle on a two lane road with no sidewalks...oh yeah there are ditches on both sides of the road.

nope...no wrecks....gahh, my posts! my beautiful posts!

you want to hear irony?

it took me 5 times to pass my driving test (Three times for the permit)

but,

i have had my license for two years now and i have never been pulled over, gotten a ticket, or gotten into an accident...and i drive an SUV

My friend totaled her car one evening by making a left turn without realizing that the car coming straight was too close. This was 15 minutes after we had a pretty big fight (and we NEVER fight, even after being best friends for 2.5 years). I was the first to come to console her. We started going out 8 days later.

^THAT is irony.

My sister crashed into the garage door by running into it before it opened all the way. Haha I came home and I was so scared that someone had broken in. It was a funny sight.

Yes, I've wrecked the car (very minor, of course, or else I'd be dead) on my second try at driving. It was an accident involving me and - well, just me, I guess. I was driving alone in an empty high school parking lot. I don't know about you drivers, but I had this accelerator-brake fear that I'd switch them up. So guess what? I did switch them up. I pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. At least I went lightly on the accelerator - God knows what would've happened if I had just stepped on it. Anyway, I quickly pressed the brake after that, but it wasn't quick enough to prevent the car from going into the curb. I crashed the license plate, and if I did any damage to the front, I guess it wasn't visible. My license plate frame was bought from my school. It had said "Great School, Great City" on there, but I think it says "Great School, Great" now that part of the frame has broken off.

My brother crashed into the back of our garage. He was 3 years old.

We're still not completely sure how he did that.

haha incredible

The only bad thing that has happened to me is when my mom scratched my car. She didn't even have the guts to tell me.

I don't count it as accident for me...I was in the house at the time and completely unaware...it was her fault.

I rear-ended this guy two months after I finally got my dl. Was going down the road, looking at directions, and looked up...going 60, had about 15 ft to brake and it wasnt enough. A cop was right behind me too.

He asked if id been drinking...haha. We exchanged info; I offered to pay out of pocket, like he just mail me the invoice on the car and id write him a check so insurance wouldnt go up. But he was a douche and was like "no I think the insurance companies need to get involved with this." and I waited anxiously for six months to see if my insurance went up. I even didnt play lacrosse so I could work to cover the estimated $1000 it would go up. I was ****ed when I got the bill and it was still the same.

anyone addicted to driving FAST?

Not really, I try to never go more than 15 over the limit.

I have never driven past 65...the speed limit was 55 for that area.

Past that point I think I will lose control of the car. I know a few people who went 80 in a 35 mph zone...

HECK YEA.....the road I take to work, I know where all the speed traps are, so I slow down when I get to them, other than that....its 95 in the 55

Hahaha, pretty funny stories. And YES to driving fast, that's caused me a lot of near accidents right there . . . I go like 60 on 35 mph limit road, no kidding. And 68-70 on 55 mph limit. I'm a speeding demon like crazy, speed whenever I can. The "rush" feeling is great!

No I wasn't drunk, but a cop did pull me over before. He asked if I was drunk and I told him no, but I was REALLY REALLY tired, and apparently I wasn't driving "straight" or something . . and that was really it.

aw man, that sucks. :( my dad was all like, "you know what the insurance company will do now?? they're going to send a letter taking us off their plan, yeah you dont believe me? just wait, the letter will come anyday now, I mean, why weren't you THINKING?? THis is gonna cost 1000 dollars to repair, you know a car is worthless if the body is ruined . ." blah and blah and blah . .

theripcurl if it makes you feel any better, I know a girl who got her license suspended the day she got it because she got into a car accident just a few hours after obtaining it (on her first try).

I haven't gotten in an accident yet but did get my first parking ticket last week. I'm not really that bad at driving, just the parking part. I try to park next to those jesus vans that really religious people drive when I get the chance, because I usually end up really close to one side and I figure they're probably the least likely type to scratch my car ;) So far, so good though. Mostly.

My mom hit a deer when I was in the car. It was hella scary. The deer was like writhing on the ground. Then it just got up and left. There was fur stuck on our front bumper. Pretty nasty. Car wasn't toooo dented.

Then a few weeks ago I was driving a little too fast on this winding, uphill road. The car on the other side swerved into my lane and I had to steer to the right and I hit the curve. Flat tire, but it's all good now. The other bunghole just drove away like nothing happened. Bastard.
