Just wondering. I've had mine confiscated once and I've been given warnings here and there...

Lol. Getting caught with a phone is automatic out of school suspension at my school.

yeah i got mine taking away but luckly i have known this teacher for four years and went to france with her family and some classmates i got mine back at the end of the day.

automatci suspension!!! woww
ours is if you get it taken away like four or five times

Teachers usually give warnings. But after the 1st warning, they have to take them away.

Some teachers are grouchy and take them away.

One teacher in particular takes it away or ignores it depending on your ringtone. If he likes the song/beat of your ringtone, he'll let you keep it. If he hates it he'll take it away.

haha thats funny.
some times are teachers will answer it

I hate when teachers text on your phone. Ticks me off.

are they allowed to do that?

Some teachers do it. When they confiscate your phone, just take the battery out and keep the battery.

so many people do that or if you have a sim card take that out

At my old school they would make a parent come and collect it at the end of the day, but the school I am now at, since its real small, the teachers sort of make their own rules, one teacher will take it and give it back at the end of class, if it rings twice in class, but if its during a test, you get an automatic zero, the other one just tells you to put it away...

at my school. 1st offense=goes to office, pick at the end of the day

2nd offense=goes to office, parents have to pick it up themselves

not sure about 3+.lol

However, some teachers do not care at all. I have 2 teachers where I can text in plain sight. They do not even say anything.

yea some of my teachers don't care if kids text but i've gotten mine taken away a couple times... once this year and i had to go to the director of the school at the end of the day and was put on a "students who abuse technology rights" list but besides that i didn't get in trouble.. last year i got it taken away about four or five times and got a detention every time (that was in 8th grade so this year it's under a different director and dean)

Most teachers don't care, even though a lot of students write text messages in class...the only thing that happened to me, was that my teacher asked me if he should answer the phone.

nope.. my chem teacher doesn't care but all the other teachers do. In my chem class i have my phone on my desk and i go to sleep in there and she would walk right past me and she won't even wake me up :)

Most teachers at my school will just sort of laugh when the phone starts ringing. All the other students start coughing so the ring is harder to hear, but it's sort of obvious. Most teachers of seniors and juniors are pretty easy on them. Only security guards and administrators will take away phones.

Nah. I could have, but power of persuasion, my friend.

just curious why anyone would get calls during the school day? aren't you and your friends all in classes??

We have to put it on speaker and answer it in front of the whole class. The person at the other end doesn't know. It can be funny but if it as embarrassing class and you have to do it....

Warnings here and there...mostly from my Comparative Politics teacher.
