...I had an electronic device taken away by a teacher. I have the "Flashcards" app on my iTouch and was looking at stupid rhetorical terms (stupid asyndeton...I will never use you in my essay ever again as payback) in Calc and I got caught. Sad thing is that my two friends next to me had their iTouch out at the same time too and weren't caught...I mean I wasn't doing anything unproductive and it's better than staring blankly or staring at a topless Putin like my friend was - don't ask why - (considering Calc class isn't doing anything). And it isn't making me fail (considering I'm one of the few As in the class and got a 4 on the mock).

End rant.

Who has been caught using any electronical device (cell phone, iTouch, etc.) and who hasn't?

I haven’t, although I have used my cell phone a few times in class.

I think that my teacher would have been fine with it though. The class period was almost over and I needed to ensure that I would be picked up at a specific time, seeing as how I was staying for additional assistance both times.

I’m still mad…I mean me = productive w/ the iTouch unlike my friend who was looking at that topless Putin picture (of course don’t want his to be taken away but still ugh)

That stinks. My school has a policy about cell phones but no one actually follows it. One of my teachers is funny with them when he catches them. He confiscates them and then makes the student play hide and seek for it. He gets so excited. It’s hilarious.

One’s parents have to come pick it up. You get a referral, and you have to attend school on exam days. Only kids that fail classes, miss 3 days of school, or get a referral come on exam days.

This didn’t happen to me since my teacher just handed it back.

I use my phone in school sometimes, but never in a real class where we’re doing something.

The ONLY time I ever did that was also the only time I got my phone taken away. We were taking notes in chem and I was dying from some sickness and waiting for my mom to let me know when my doc appointment was. I got a text that I thought was from my mom, and it was a stupid totally random text from a friend. The teacher, who I really like and she really likes me, took the phone and gave it to the asst. principal, who I had to get it from. Understand, people know me. I wouldn’t mind if I was just another kid, but because of who I am, it’s like everyone expects better of me. I was humiliated. And I wasn’t even doing anything wrong. I got over it though.
