Not trying to be paranoid, just seeing how many other people are in the same boat as me. I live in the suburbs of Philly, so I thought there would be a lot of alumni in this area. I know two students at my school who have been contacted for an interview, so I'm just getting a little anxious.

Any previous students receive an offer to interview in late February/March?

haven’t gotten one either… i called penn and they checked for me. apparently i haven’t even been assigned an alumni. they said only half the applicants get a chance for an interview.

I was only offered an interview about a week ago and had it last Thursday. One of my friends who goes to my school was offered an interview by the same person for Thursday. Another friend of mine who goes to our school was not offered an interview at all and he is pretty even with us in terms of everything.

So late interviews do happen, and I wouldn’t worry about it if I were you if you didn’t get one! (Yeah I know that is impossible right now! )

Yeah I’m worried. One girl in my class got an interview and her grades and SATs are MUCH higher than mine so I think it has to do with how interested they are in you.
I’m really upset because I really want to go to Penn
Superior people… grr…

Well, I’m gonna settle some differences here. I really don’t think it has something to do with interest, just the availability of alumni.
two reasons.
I got contacted for an interview, and I can ASSURE you that I am NOT qualified for Upenn. lol. It is a reach above reach beyond the normal reach.
I live in NYC, and most if not all of my the fellow Penn applicants in my school got interviews, so since NYC is where a lot of the alumni are, we got interviews. that’s one correlation.
So, I wouldn’t worry about receiving interviews.

idk my parents are all like “evidently they want nothing to do with you” because the person in charge of my region lives down the street from me >.<

^ Your parents are wrong. It doesn’t really matter if the person lives down the street from you because the interviewer himself doesn’t know you live down the street from him/her; unless you personally know them or something. Interviewers get a list of names of applicants in their region, and they randomly pick people from the list to interview.
