So I’ve been checking the student page anxiously the past few weeks. Today, my portal is showing that for 2006-2007 I have been offered about $9000 in financial aid. I haven’t gotten an admission e-mail or packet yet…nothing. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but does this mean I’ve been accepted? I find it weird that they would put up my financial aid amount but not send me an admissions decision yet…? This system is horrible.

I think it means you've been accepted.

my sister got money offered like that from upenn but then was rejected, so don't get ahead of yourself. i also have money sitting there from au, but im waiting for some confirmation before i go getting all excited.

zmonkeytoe, that's awful! They offered her money and then rejected her?

That's sick!

Um, ok...thanks. I wasn't getting too excited, just wondering what that meant since there has been so much talk of the inconsistent admissions process. I'm sorry about your sister btw.

i would think its likely that you are accepted, as they went through the extra work of figuring out how much to give BUT don't get your hopes up because it may not be a sure thing and because American's system needs a complete rehaul and I would be reluctant to read too much into anything given their wacky and unreliable system, good luck in any case.
